tomshardware tested it already

I am wondering if you can use two per card (2x dp) or maybe with eyefinity card x6 - 24 monitors

As far as I'm aware, you can still only use 6 monitors at max. The eyefinity pipe line only has 6 display pipes. The only way to get more than six is to use splitters (such as the TH2Go or mView).

Anyone know where to order them in the USA, or what online store ships to USA.

Voltage
Input: 5V+/- 10%
Output: 3.3V +/- 10%

So why do we need a external adapter for 5V ? USB does 0.5A and if you have powered USB 1.5A, and you could user the power from 2 USB Ports... so this thing is not gonna drain more than 15W is it ?

Or do they think most user's only have 1Power Port so 7.5W is not enough? And two normal Ports would only give 5W....

Supports DP-DP Bypass mode

Does that mean you can plug 3 Monitors and daisy chain the 4th monitor to the 3rd in 1920x1080 ?

If its using 3.3v then I should imagine that the 5v from usb, or even from DP its self would be suffcient, or hell, even a combination of the both much like the DL-active adaptors.

Id almost be tempted to mod a SATA power cable for a solid 3.3v, going to have more than enough juice.

ok...ok...wait a minute......

Is this finally my 20x30x20 PLP solution?

Questions:

1) I have an ATI 6970, can I use it? It has miniDP, or do I have to use a full sized DP from the card?

2) With this enabled, can I create an eyefinity group in PLP?

3) Do i have to use eyefinity? Or will it just run everything on 3 screens on its own.

Man I hope this is what I have been waiting for!!!

1) IIRC 6970 supports DP1.2 So if you use Mini DP or normal DP doesn't matter! There are Adapters from Mini to Normal

2) No!

3) It shows up as Normal Monitors! Not like the Zotac mini DP -> Dual HDMi Adapter which creates one huge Surface!

+1 what Haldi said.

Think of this like a USB hub, but for monitors using DP.

Have been waiting so long for this hub, like many others i presume.
But now it seems i need 2 of these to enable 5x1P (and hopefully 5x1P+1) with my 6970.
And with most games being so demanding i better get a 7970/7990 first... :wtf:

Remarkable its a Dutch company to first deliver the long awaited MST hub

Well, it may be cheaper just to get a card with 6 outputs if you're buying a new card anyway.

Here's a list that needs updating that I put together. I currently have 2 MSI Lightnings and they can do up to six outputs. The reason I want this hub, is so that in the future I can run 5x1 Portrat on screens that require Dual-Link connections (such as 5 2560x1600 monitors or 5 120Hz Monitors) or that if I wanted, I could buy a reference card in the future and still have a lot of outputs to populate.

it shows in polish reseller (status - not avaible)

http://www.saturion.pl/product/187169/A ... _3xDP.html

listed price - 518zł is about 160$

edit//

belgium 113eur - http://www.lasystems.be/CLUB3D/CSV-5300 ... 45026.html

In other shops 109-120eur, so in US should be about 130-140$, looks real.

Question - is worth spending cash for this hub?

What if i connect it to DP1.1 ? (on video description I see its compatibile with hd5000 series but all 5000 series has DP1.1 :?:
Also have I connect it directly to DP port?
I mean, Can I use for example 2meter displayport extension :?: I ask bcoz I read somewhere if displayport cable will be too long, it can't work.
Couple weeks ago I connected monitor over 2meter extension dp-dp and 3meter cable dp-hdmi - it works  , but instead dp-hdmi cable i use active dual link adapter i got some problems to run 2560x1600, without extensions works immadately.

This is just a port expander, not a hardware spanning module. You're still limited to your driver level Eyefinity configurations. What it essentially does is turn any AMD card into an E6 card with two of these. If you need to go above 6x1 Eyefintiy in spanning options you'll need to use Zotac DP to Dual-HDMI adapters for hybrid spanning.

This. Using the 7970 DC2 for 5x1 right now. Tossed in a vanilla non-ref 7970 for a little extra oompf.
