3x 2560x1440 Required Monitor Cables?
i was wondering what cables can drive 3x 2560x1440 display setup?
Re: 3x 2560x1440 Required Monitor Cables?
2560x1440 @ 60hz @ 24bit = 2560x1440x60x24 = 5.31Gbit/s required per monitor/cable...
These are currently the max bandwidth each cable type can handle, I have highlighted in green which will work and those that will not in red...
VGA = 6.4 Gbit/s
DVI-D Single Link = 3.96 Gbit/s
DVI-D Dual Link = 7.92 Gbit/s
HDMI v1.0/1.1/1.2 = 3.96 Gbit/s
HDMI v1.3/1.4 = 8.16 Gbit/s
DisplayPort v1.0/1.1 = 8.64 Gbit/s
DisplayPort v1.2 = 17.28 Gbit/s

yup
most hi-res 1200p and above monitors now in days comes shipped with DVI-D Dual Link cables, they are much thicker than the standard single link DVI-D cables
