Single 120hz (2560x1440) vs Triple 60hz Surround (5760x1080)

I'm curious to see if anyone on these forums has used a 120hz monitor before.

I'm considering switching out my 3x(triple) DEll U2311 monitors for a single monitor Catleap.

3 x 1920x1080 @ 60 hz

vs

1x 2560x1440 @ 120 hz

Lots of people seem to say that 120hz is way better and smoother, however I love my Dell Ultrasharp monitors in games like Battlefield 3 - very immersive.

I suppose I could use both, but I feel like I'd eventually pick one and stick with it exclusively.

I understand this is a forum for Multimonitor folks, but I'm trying to get the opinions of people who've actually used BOTH setups before.
