I am considering RMA’ing my 7950 since the fans are making weird ticking sounds when they run at idle. If I get a new one from RMA, it would make it easier to sell this card. Would like to have a 670/680 instead, because of some problems I am having. The most important thing is I am stuck at 12.4 driver wise (more info). Also am liking Nvidia a little more when it comes to drivers/different monitor outputs(no tearing).
Not sure which to choose though. A 670 or a 680. For both versions I like either the MSI cards (Power edition/Lightning) or a CUII card from Asus. The 670 PE cost 380 euro’s and the 680 lightning costs 500. What would you guys choose? The 680 has only a little more performance, but also more overclocking headroom (because of voltage tweaking). And since I prefer running only one card, maybe the 680 would be a better choice max performance wise. Money isn’t really an issue, but spending more without getting more still doesn’t feel good.
Replacing 7950 with 680?

Get the 680.
But for my money the 670 is the better buy, you can put the saved money towards 770, 870, whatever it is in the future, or SSD, or whatever :)
