Why is the forum so slow?

Post by reuben.ahmed »

This stops me from reading posts and wanting to make new threads/replies, it's like 5x as slow as other sites. Please look into another hosting provider if that's the issue?

Hi, thanks.
We are aware of the issue and we are looking into resolving it, sadly this is not a simple issue as we have been battling it for a while, we have some paths forward which should help us but its not an overnight job, please bear with us.

We've just (as in a couple hours ago) moved to a new host. Once everything settles down (and the site search index rebuilds), let us know how it works for you. We still have architecture updates and migrations we are working on, but this was our first step (in this go-round).

Not checked others, but it's barely usable - had a couple of timeouts.

I'm not trying to sound like an arse, but why do the fixes usually make stuff worse?

Page execution time was 72834.51 ms. Executed 1608 queries in 31364.99 milliseconds.
Page execution time was 70833.03 ms. Executed 1789 queries in 32362.63 milliseconds.
Page execution time was 73449.9 ms. Executed 1650 queries in 30984.66 milliseconds.

I really have no idea why this didn't Time Out - it usually has when pages take this long. This is happening on every single page.
