HIS 6950 crossfire active mini dp -> dvi

Post by Piggybag »

Hi everyone,

I am new on this forum and new to the amd eyefinity.

Recently I bought a new pc with 3 monitors.
I also bought this adapter: http://www.mycom.nl/Product/Kabel-Beeld/Sapphire-ACTIVE-MiniDPtoDVI/1161949
The first one failed to work, so did the second one. When i hook up my 3rd monitor to this adapter it works for about 5 seconds, but when i try to open a program the 3rd screen disconnects, tries to connect again, and than disconnects etc.

I really need my 3rd monitor.
What would be a good mini dp port to dvi adapter that is compatible with my graphics cards?

Also it would be nice if I could buy it in Europe.

Grtz,

I am using 2x HIS radeon HD

I am using 2x HIS radeon HD 6950 Ice QX in crossfire mode.

For eyefinity I am required to use the minidisplayport for the 3rd monitor. If i use 2x dvi and 1x hdmi it wont work.

I was thinking about getting this one, because it has an extra power cable.

No guarantee!

It's just the old generation Active Adapters that needed an external (USB) power source! Nowadays they work without.

But that's whats missing here on WSGF.... a "Adapter Master List" like the Monitor Master List.
The problem is to keep that up to date... way to much work!

I bought this:

I used it with my HD 6950. It worked great. Do you have something like this?
