CS:GO 5760x1080 HUD Problems

Post by granpachook »

Hello all!

I was recently lucky enough to get into the CS:GO beta. I'm a huge CS fan going back to 1.5, and I couldn't wait to download the game and see how it runs on triple screen.

First off, the actual game-play is awesome, and works great natively at 5760 x1080. However, when you actually play the game the HUD is being displayed over-sized on the left and right monitors. The mini-map in particular is enormous.

Just make sure your aspect ratio is correct, and the resolution will show up automatically in-game.

The in-game menus look just fine, with the exception that the game browser's server name is unreadable due to lines of text jumbled on top of one another.

I'm actually very pleased with the way the game looks and plays, even with the HUD enlargement. I'm just playing without looking at the mini-map (I've never used one anyways) and even in intense firefights frames never drop below 60 fps.

Setup:
Monitors: 3x 40 inch Phillips 40PFL5505D
MOBO: ASUS P8Z68 DELUXE/GEN3 LGA 1155
CPU: Intel Core i7-2600k
HIS H797F3G2M Radeon HD 7970
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 16GB DDR3 1600
SSD: Crucial M4 CT256M4SSD2 2.5" 256GB SATA III
PSU: CORSAIR Professional Series HX1050 1050W

Anyone have the beta that wants to take a look? Or if no-one is in the beta yet, if anyone has any interest in trying fix to this problem I can hook them up with my next beta key (whenever I get it). Anyway, if anyone has any questions about the beta or needs anymore information, just let me know!

Enable the developer console

Enable the developer console in the options and there's a cvar (I forget the exact name, but it has to do with scaling) that will allow you to shrink the size of the HUD to something more acceptable. There's nothing in place to center the HUD yet.

You mean "hud_scaling"?
If I set it on 2, my minimap gets smaller and the rest gets bigger. If I set it on 0.5, my minimap gets bigger and the rest gets smaller. Mysterious.
