[h3]What is it?[/h3]

The SGS will be a nine week gaming tournament during the months of June, July, and August. A chance to check out other games, hang with the community, and an excuse to sit in front of the computer screen.



[h3]What is the schedule?[/h3]

The tournament will start the first full week of June and end the first weekend of August, with a mid-tournament week break in July.

• Week of June 3-9 : DiRT 3


• Week of June 10-16: L4D2


• Week of June 17-23: Company of Heroes


• Week of June 24-30: Tribes Ascend


• Week of July 1-7: BREAK - NO GAME


• Week of July 8-14: Natural Selection 2


• Week of July 15-21: League of Legends


• Week of July 22-28: Nexuiz


• Week of July 29-August 4: FINALS!

Finals week will be a "roll of the dice" to determine the games, done during the Break Week.

[h3]What do I need for teams?[/h3]

Teams will be at least 6 members big. Not every member will be needed for every game. Is is in anticipation of any vacations, work, or other event that would take people away. Also, not all need to be WSGF members, though. I encourage bringing outside members to play. I do realize that there will be issues with international players, so there will be a way to even out, discussed in the scoring section below.

[h3]How will scoring be done?[/h3]

The plan is to do a Win/Tie/Loss system, with the point spread being 2/1/0.

For each game, there will be four rounds to play. If there are international teams matched up with each other, two games each will be played on both team's "home field."

If there are concerns or issues that come about, we will deal with them as the time comes. :D

I'm in. The only games I don't have is SC2 and NS2. I just picked up Nexuiz on Steam, it is currently only $8.99 for the next 26 hours, as of 8am PST. Here is the link:

I would need to get assigned a team, even though I know people their works or personal schedules might conflict with some of these events or they just don't have the games. I will try pass the info along though and see if they are interested. Also what time are the times we are looking at for them or is that still to early to determine?

Times would be up to both teams. You have an entire week to get the results done and in. Ideally, most would be a Saturday, but I realize people have lives and conflicts.

Made change to do Company of Heroes instead of Starcraft 2. CoH does have a Steam sale this weekend, too!.

Doesn't look like it is happening, due to lack of interest. However, I am all for gaming weekends. Some of us are on the IRC/Mumble on the weekends, so join us and play!
