Ridge Racer Unbounded RRU

Post by CrickDo666 »

did a little searching around for an eyefinity fix for this game no luck so i figured id create the topic
looks like my native res (6048x1080) came up in menu as an option but the view is wrong (as usual)

note: these games are important when i need a distraction from skyrim lol

You guys like the game? It's kind pricey so not leap of faith from me.

I loved the original Ridge Racer games up to #4 after that I lost track as I didn't get the new consoles.

I still remember how good it felt to unlock the black car on the original PlayStation Ridge Racer and then go pwn the game with it, and the grind of playing Galiga to unlock some worthy cars.

I'm about to post a DR, no new solution though... The game only supports 16:10 and 16:9, multi-mon stretches.

As for the game itself, forget about the name (this is NOT Ridge Racer !) and the dev (this is NOT FlatOut !), and what you get is actually one of the very best arcade racers around. RRU may feel simplistic and dull for the first couple minutes, then you learn the ropes and hours of pure fun pass in a flash. I love how "strategic" the use of boost is, and the many ways of winning a domination race: by opening shortcuts on the last lap, fragging opponents, using pure speed and agility, or mixing all these as the race goes with (hopefully) clever opportunism.
What's more, loading times are almost inexistant and cut-scenes can be skipped... Priceless features in this day and age.
Too bad the user-created tracks are mostly curveless, jump-ladden rides at the moment though...

Not cheap (yet), but it's the most fun I had in arcade racing since Burnout Paradise.
