Hi guys,
I just finished setting up my Eyefinity and im curious if I would get better FPS if i downgraded to 24" monitors, This is my setup atm
1,000 psu
amd 955 PII x4 oc to 3.8
8 gigs DDR3
3 syncmaster sa550 samsung 27" monitors
Hd 6990 with the high performance bios switch on 1
In Feb i was thinking about upgrading to like an i7 3.8 with like an asus extreme mb not sure if that would help at all
But im loaded up rift and was only getting mid 30s if i turned off shadows on high setting i got mid to high 40 fps I think i got high 50+ fps in lotro and in bc2 i was getting 50-60fps AM i just expecting to much or is this good?
Thoughts on monitors or other helpfull feedback is very much welcome thanks everyone. I have 2 days to return the monitors if i want to swap them for something else btw.
New Eyefinity setup Cpl questions.
Those monitors are 1920x1080.
Those monitors are 1920x1080. You will not get better performance by downgrading to 24" because they will also be 1920x1080.
You only options are to turn the game settings down,
Accept the fps that you are getting,
or buy another 6990. :O
I would start with turning AA down as much as you can tolerate. Then move on to others setting if you are still not satisfied.
Good luck.
p.s. I would gladly do a 1 for 1 swap of monitors :D

led monitors tend to look a
led monitors tend to look a little better, but there is very little in it. fast response time is far more important.
for the smoothest picture, turn vsync on and lower setting till you lock your fps at 60. then see if you need another card for crossfire
