Advice for new graphics card for tri-monitor set-up

Post by sassal132 »

Hey everyone :)

So im getting a completely new rig in the next couple of days (except my monitors) and I need some advice on what card I should get for a tri-monitor gaming setup. I plan to buy the third monitor in the coming weeks. My current 2 monitors are 22" each.

I was first looking at this card: http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/n570so-gigabyte-nvidia-gtx570-superclock-p-53540.html?sort=2a

but then i was reading these forums and realised that eyefinity would be alot better for multi-screen gaming.

Could someone please visit this link: http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/graphics-cards-c-26.html?sort=2a

and tell me which graphics card (for a maximum price of $450) would be best for an eyefinity setup with 3 monitors with awesome performance?

Thanks :)

I would however suggest 2x6870 crossfire or such even 6850 crossfire would make the eyefinity scale for gaming.
1gb cards run out of vram fast if you crank up AA but if you play with 2xAA that wont happen.

it depends on the game you play, check the game vs crossfire if it supports it good, 2x6850 is faster than a 580gtx or such single card solutions in most games.

Yeh you were thinking what i was thinking after i looked around a bit more :)

I've settled on two of these: http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/eah6950dcii2di4s2gd5-asus-radeon-6950-p-51138.html?sort=2a

they fit my budget nicely and will give me stellar performance with 2gig vram :)

Thanks for your help :)

Just goes to show everyone always exceeds their budget. You wanted max $450 then got $600+ worth of cards :)

lol, I did the same thing also. I think we all know that gaming takes priority over food, clothes, kids, etc. :)
