[request] Tomb Raider: Underworld

Post by teardropmina »

I notice there's a AP fix in the confirmed solution section, but my problem is that the game only shows up on the center screen of my 3xGD245HQ set-up.
5760x1080 does show up in the display option, but whenever I go back the game, the resolution goes back 1920x1080.
that is, I don't even get to use the AR fix, since there's nothing to be fixed~

I remember back when I played around eyefinity with a 5870, this game did show up on all three screens, only the image is stretch out. does nvidia 2/3D surround just plain won't work?

Nothing should be GPU-dependent.

I uninstalled and reinstalled

Post by teardropmina »

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. now at start, from the config window I was able to select 5760x1080, but an error appeared saying that it failed to initialize D3D. then the old story went on, after picking 1920x1080, no error, into the game, there's no way to change resolution in-game (well, as said, you can choose 5760x1080, but the change won't stick).

searching all over the place online and I see it's happening to many people; it seems that multiple monitors just won't work for this game now. maybe it's a windows 7 thing? some built-in dx setting that's conflict with the game, since it's dx9 based.

can someone look into this? the game is spectacular with standard 3D vision, and I certainly would like to experience it 3D surround.

thanks in advance,

It should wok on all Systems,

It should wok on all systems, there are just two things to consider:
1) You can't exceed 3×1280*1024. Choose a resolution beneath that limit.
2)You have to set the FOV in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Crystal Dynamics > Tomb Raider > Graphics > AspectRatio
For me, 9000(hex) works ok. Just test a few settings.

I'm not familiar with HEX. I have a 3 monitor setup similar to the one described above, and even after trying a few different HEX numbers I can't get the 2 side monitors to show anything but a black screen. Any advice? nVidia surround works on other programs for me.... THANKS!
