Bad Company 2 Performance

In recent months, my Bad Company 2 performance seems worse. For several moments after loading a map, my game is intensely laggy until I've looked in all directions. I guess this is some latent texture loading issue? I'm quite certain I never had this issue say last year, at least not the current degree. Any ideas? This is at 1440x900 (no eyefinity) and low settings (texture medium, everything else low) by the way.

It plays fine dont know what fps im getting (hsao would be the killer, called hbao in game)
