recommended power supply
recommended power supply
Every so ofter about 3 minute intervals I hear this annoying "beep" sound. I can't turn it off and it only sounds when FS is running. Whats a good recommended power supply when using TH2G. Right now I have a 480W power supply. If its not the power what is it?

Re: recommended power supply
:welcome
The beep could be from overheating.
Try running GPU-Z to monitor the gfx card temps and real temp to monitor the cpu temps.
The PSU is borderline, it seems that it manages ok for you, a bit more headroom with a larger capacity PSU wont hurt, but likely not needed.
Get some tempreture numbers and let us know. :)

Those temps are fine. Are all the power connections connected?

You still have User Manual from Mainboard? (if not there should be PDF of it on support page of manufacterer)
All Beep sounds should be described in there.
It IS a *beep* from mainboard and not from Windows yeah? Does also *beep* if windows is muted?

I just got a new rig but same problem. The beep comes from the speakers, if I mute the speakers no beep.

So this sound comes out of your speakers and only happens when FS is running. Can you tell us which version of FS (and just clarify what FS stands for to make sure we're all thinking the same thing)?

FS means Flight Simulator for clarification. A new rig I doubt I will buy a new rig. Look at my PC specs, I video card supports 4 monitors and with 8 gigs a ram something isn't adding up here. I have one of the most high performance video cards out right now. The only last thing it could be is my CPU Processor. Maybe I need a quad core 3.0 GHZ I will buy a new CPU later this summer when I go back to work. That and a liquid cooling system.

Ok, if this comes out of your speakers and only happens when FS is running, then I am going to put it out there that it's being generated by your flight sim program and is probably a function of the plane you are flying or a setting in the program itself. It is not a system problem and changing hardware will not change it.

Its not the Flight Sim because when I turn it off it still beeps about another five minutes then eventually dies off. I just got some major info. I am running my FS right now and I put a fan right next to the air vent leading straight in to the PC. My CPU temp dropped from 40 to 35 degrees Celsius and my system temp dropped from 47 to 37 Celsius in a matter of seconds. So its not even temperature I'm pretty sure I need to upgrade my processor.

Your right, it was my Virtual Airline ACARS program that was causing the beep. Jeez I kept pulling my hair out for no reason. I knew with the Graphics card I had it cound't have been a performance issue.
