The Witcher 2 FoV

Post by Omnimus »

Is there a way to increase it?
Tried the Flawless widescreen tool, but alas my computer is not strong enough for Eyefintiy.

I was having an idea yesterday about a nice compromise.

If one were to alter the FoV for out-of-combat, but keep the rest intact. (so that when you entered combat or any other "focus enviroment" it would zoom in as it is now)

This would give developers the freedom in restricting gameplay in those areas they felt nessesary for artistic purpouses, while allowing players to have a wider view when running around.

/edit
That is, if there is a variable for out of combat, and not just returning to base FoV.

...Dream on.

I can add the option for you to increase the FOV - but I can't do what you edited in... (well not just yet anyway)

peoplez - let me know if you care about a FOV option.

OK - so what that dude asked for is actually already in the game - there are like 10 different "combat mode" cameras....

An example: (in 16:9 mode, FOV set to 90 I think it was - of course the user doesnt get the choice!)

The dude thanks you for giving the topic your attention HaYDeN.

Misread.
It looks like they left some of them in from testing.. Some of them resemble how it looked in TW1 with OTSview.
Anyways the first and 6th pics look nice

Have you found any setting specific to out-of-combat ?

Definitely interested. The narrow FOV is really getting annoying. I don't care about different FOV for combat and such, just generally increased FOV would be great.

Post by wader2k »

Indeed....with patch 1.3 on my 16:10 screen it sucks that I lose part of the view I had when the game only supported 16:9.

So instead of the display getting better for me it got worse. Nice update!

An adjustable FOV would be JUST the ticket!!!!

Sorry for quoting with pictures but you are the only in the world that could save me/us.

I have TW2 1.3.5 and I would appreciate it a lot if you could tell me how to have such a Field of View within TW2, I deeply hate the default FoV and I like a lot TW series.

Does perhaps your flawless sw work with version 1.3.5 ?

Thanks a lot in advance man

Hi guys,

I registered on this forum just to be able to post on this thread. I never played through Witcher 2 - halfway through i give up, simply because of the shitty FOV. I felt almost blind all the time, could never see much of the environments (#1 reason for playing games).

Imagine the happy surprise i got when i found this thread. I was quite sure that it will not be possible to fix the FOV in Witcher 2, just like it was in Dead Space, wich i had to give up for the same reasons. But i'm glad i was proven wrong.

So, how can i change the FOV in the game? There is no answer in this thread, just proof that it works. But how can i do it?

The 2.0 patch is out this

Post by evilmatt »

The 2.0 patch is out this week, the patch notes contains this interesting snippet:
An option has been added to the configuration tool enabling aspect ratio to be set independently of resolution.
