Gainward GTX580 3gb

Post by Uldred101 »

If anyone missed it, Gainward announced an upcoming GTX580 with 3gbs of ram.

Bank accounts everywhere will be getting drained.

Interested in seeing benchmarks tho.

Did they say how much it was going to be? I couldn't find a price anywhere.. I imagine it's going to be expensive though. :P

This is also being discussed here http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=21987
Gainward did not announce recommended price for the novelty, but it is very likely that it will be higher compared to $499 of the typical graphics card with 1.5GB of memory.

Sadly it is also a 2.5 slot cooler. Lots of thought went into that one. Lets make a GFX card that will be best used in sli for triple screen but make it not fit lots of the motherboards out there. Yes I could use slot 1 and 3 but that then get in the way of other things.

Looks like I will need to wait on a 3gig card with a standard cooler.
