3x1600x900 Issue

I've been running a dual-screen setup for some months now and I managed to pick up a refurbished TH2GO Digital for pretty cheap. I thought I would give running a 3x4800x900 setup.

I ran the compatibility check and everything said it would work fine, once I updated the firmware of course. I've got the specs checked out and everything seems like it should be working okay; however, every time I try and put the GXM configuration into 3x4800x900 and reboot, it fails.

I'm running with a single GTX 460 and three Asus VH202T-P displays. I have the TH2GO connected to the PC via a dual-link DVI. The monitors are connected to the TH2GO via a dual-link DVI and two standard DVI cables.

The only problem I can see is that maybe because two of the monitors are connected through single-link, it would be causing it to throw a fit. I'm not really sure where to go from here in terms of troubleshooting this box, but if you've got any suggestions, I'm all ears.

Your DVI setup is ok, but GXM Wizard has been known not to work well with recent nvidia drivers for quite some time now.
Try to add the resolution manually using this method: Conclusive 5040x1050 Fix for NVIDIA users (you shouldn't need advanced timings, but you may have to find the right refresh rate)

I did give that a try but it kept failing as well. Oddly, it is recognizing 4080x768 as viable resolution and is what I'm currently using. Why it won't go the extra step, I don't know. I'm running the 260.99 drivers, which I have seen on here saying that it doesn't always work. Is there an older (working) driver that someone might be able to link me to? I can't imagine dropping the driver version would have to big of an impact on my performance anyway.

Wait, since when does the TH2Go support 3x1600x900 (4800x900). When I had the TH2Go, i couldn't get that resolution. Has that been added?

EDIT: Wow, they've been busy. Make me want to pick up a TH2Go to just mess with it. Too bad, I don't have a card that supports all the new resolutions.

I'm pretty sure it's a refresh rate issue similar to what 5040 users are experiencing. With GTX260s in WinXP, I never had any problem using 4800x900 - but I had to find a custom refresh rate in Win7, and even this didn't seem to work with later drivers. With a GTX460 I'm afraid you can't use "old enough" drivers, so 4080x768 may be the best you can achieve. :(

I did manage to get it to work as a custom resolution while adjusting it to 59hz but it wouldn't actually allow me to apply it. I thought a reboot might help but it no longer recognizes 4800x900, and I can't get into to work even as a test resolution anymore. I think this is one of those instances where I might be better off going with a Surround setup and just buy another 460.

If you can afford it, certainly. :)
Again though, the right method to make it work with TH2G would be to fiddle with decimals - start with a 59.4 Hz refresh rate, then try 59.350 or 59.450, until the resolution is applied normally. Even if you try every 0.05 step from 59.2 to 59.8, it's pretty quick and easy to do. Worth a shot imho.

Fair enough. The spot I think I'm having trouble with is what to put down in the custom section. I know them for the 5040x1200 that everyone is trying to get. For Front Porch, Sync, and Total Pixels I have no idea what to fill in or where to even start for mine. I know the time I had it work, it was set to 59.545hz. What everything else was set to, I don't know :?
