displayport to mini displayport adapter?

I already have a reliable active displayport adapter, but my card requires a mini displayport.

Does anybody know of a good dvi -> mini displayport (active) thats cheap?

or could I just buy a displayport->mini displayport adapter and double up adapters ?

You can just use a miniDP->DP cable.

Hi guys,

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I don't want to start another on something similar. I have a Startech DisplayPort to VGA adapter I'm using with my 5870 for a third monitor (DisplayPort > DisplayPort to VGA adapter > Monitor @ 1680 x 1050), the other two are on the cards DVI's (DVI > VGA adapter > Monitor @ 1680 x 1050).

I ordered a 6970 today :bigsmile: cant feckin wait , and my question is can I use one of these bog standard adapters to plug into the mini DisplayPort 1.2 on the card, and then plug the adapter I already have into this?

Ok,

So the card arrived & it came with a mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort femal adapter cable. I cannot get CCC to recognise the 3rd monitor, what am I doing wrong?

daveatx, did you get yours working?

Turns out eyefinity works fully if I connect:

6970 DVI (upper one): DVI/VGA adapter > VGA lead > Monitor 01 @ 1680 x 1050.

6970 DVI (lower one): DVI lead > Monitor 02 @ 1680 x 1050.

6970 mini DisplayPort (furthest from DVI's): mini DisplayPort/DisplayPort female lead > StarTech DP2VGA DisplayPort to VGA adapter > VGA lead > Monitor 03 @ 1680 x 1050.

The plan now is to get 3 no. Samsung BX2440x's, connect 2 no. to HDMI & get a mini DisplayPort > DVI for the 3rd one. Hopefuly it'll work a bit easier.
