PSU question

If I wanted to run tri 480's or tri 580's, what sort of "watts" would I be looking for in an adequate (with a little head room) PSU ?
I currently have a thermaltake 1500w unit, (which to date has served me ok) but as I am a little more educated now, I am looking to ditch it for my next build in favour of a more reliable, "safer" power unit. Any suggestions on brand would also be appriciated, as I really am looking for something that is going to deliver safe, reliable power. Cost is a (minor) factor, but quality of power and the unit itself, is the higher consideration under the circumstances.

PS, I probably will run a duel loop W/C system, and use something like, or similar to a rampage III extreme MB.
So there would be plenty of fans a few perepherals hanging off the back of it as well (if thats a major consideration)

The TT 1500w can handle any tri-SLI system, im running 3 x GTX 480 with a Turbo-Cool 1200w, just great.

Thanks, didnt know that list existed, seems 1200w could do it ok, are there prefered brands? As I know that some PSU manufacturers quote a figure, which is the max atainable, but consistancy of power delivery can be dodgy at best.

Avoid the Mtek, all others are great, PC Power & Cooling is great but noisy, TT is also great and quite silent.

Or Antec, Silverstone, Corsair, Seasonic, Enermax... there are lots of good ones out there now. :)
