Mafia Widescreen Fix 16-9

Mafia Widescreen Fix 16-10

1. You need MafiaDataXTractor 1.1
2. Extract MISSION data with MafiaDataXTractor
3. Copy "MISSION" folder from archive to your Mafia directory
Edit:
New version will be released soon

Great stuff! :) Btw. Do your patch also extend the Draw Distance? I tried to increase the draw distance and it worked fine, unfortunately, when doing night missions the framerate will drop to 10 or less (andt that is on a powerful pc).
Btw. On the Mafiascene site, I read that somebody managed to increase draw distance without having frame drops on night missions, but he didn't explain how he did it, and he didn't bother to share the files or solution. :(

Oh man, you're awesome! I was lamenting this game version not having proper widescreen support, since i wanted to play if after trying Mafia 2. So far, I think the original is better.

Kisses and hugs. I'll give it a try after i wake, later today.

Would there be a possibility to run it in multi-monitor setups? I assume not without a lot of work, just thought I'd toss the idea out there.

I love this god damned website/community. Fixing past, current, and the inevitable future fuck-ups made by developers and publishers.

Edit: Megauplaod is giving "The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable." for the 16:10 link. Hopefully just temporary. The other download link of fine.

Draw Distance is deflaut but i can combine my fix with Mafia Optimized Mod(unlimited draw distance)
Unfortunately i released my fix too soon and some part of the game are still streched, i will upload new version later
New version is almost ready but i can't force few missions to be in widescreen(nearly all game is widescreen, for example second mission is widescreen but when you drop the taxi and run on foot game is still streched and i can't found way to fix it

Could you do one for 48x9 and perhaps 48:10 setups too?

Can I use either one of these fixes for 48:9 (5760x1080) Eyefinity?

no, it will not work properly(atleast not with my 2-monitor setup)
you need a different fov(for my 3360x1050 i used 60)
you can try adjust fov on your own, just follow the info
hi all!
i found how to start mafia in Hor+ mode. there is two methods:
First:
1. You need MafiaDataXTractor 1.1, BScriptView 6.0 (maybe 5.0)
2. Extract MISSION data with MafiaDataXTractor
3. Edit each "scene2.bin" file in all folders in "Mafia/Missions" with BSV6.0 - add to "GameInitEnd" script this string "CAMERA_SETFOV 90" (try 80-100).
4. Remember! Each file in each mission folders.
5. Save Results

this is general how i do it, but there is a couple ditales:
- you don't really need to change every scene2.bin file, only some of them
- most of the time yoy have to change GameInitEnd script but sometimes is GameInitStart(there is one or two times that this is a completely different file)
So all you have to do is found a proper fov and change 70 files

What is the default FOV? So I could calculate the FOV for me.

edit:

Intresting, it seems to use vFov in Eyefinity. I used the fovcalc, and 59 seems to be the correct for 16:3.

edit 2.0:

Actually 74 seems perfect.
