Resolution Options with NVS

Post by ZafaZ »

Hi all,

I'm just wondering what resolution options are given when using NVS?
I currently run eyefinity using 3x1920x1200 and also have the following resolution options;
-3x1680x1050
-3x800x600

I was wondering if nVidia allows 3x1440x900 or 3x1280x800 as options as I'm considering swapping out my ATI setup for an nVidia one.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks thales100, looks like your get almost every surround res with nVidia than three with ATI.

I noticed that you don't have 4320x900 though, and in your single screen res you don't have 1440x900, does your monitor not support this res?

Thanks for the info

BTW how do games run, not in terms of fps but in terms of how fluid everything looks? I'm runing crossfire 5850's and even though the fps are high (90+) i'm getting lots of microstuttering, also have you done anytesting with 2 way sli rather than 3 to see if it's still playable in surround? I'm getting fed up with my 5850's and want to change to nvidia but won't be going 3 way

Yes, no 4320x900, someone probably forgot to add this res haha :lol: . Oh its fluid, believe me its really great, HardCop has compared Nvidia Surround x ATI Eyefinity, you might wanna check it.

Hi,

I saw that review at HardOCP but I would rather know peoples personal experience with them as in terms of benchmarks/raw fps my 5850's should be fine, but they do stutter.

I like that you get more res options with nVidia, I can choose 2400x600 with eyefinity and performance is great but the image quality is horrible. I used to run a matrox th2g with a 4870x2 and with the 4320x900 option pretty much everything ran great and oddly no stuttering with that card.

Thanks for your feedback, nVidia is looking better and better. Might consider a piar of gtx470's.

Cool, i second that review, when Hardcop states that "It is disturbingly obvious in our testing that GeForce GTX 480 SLI is superior to Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity6 2GB and Radeon HD 5870 1GB CrossFireX configurations in 3x1 multi-display gaming", its clear to me, as Nvidia Surround user, that it also includes the non-stutter aspect of this solution, comparing to ATI's.
