error when using Diablo II Res Mod

I keep getting an error when using Diablo II Res Mod.
"UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: ACCES_VIOLATION (c000005)"
ANyone know how to fix this?

In case someone wants to replay diablo due to recent events ;)

I've ecountered the same error today and found the solution, you must change your location win windows settings to Great Britain in Language, and Region settings.

Also the game wouldnt start for me when set to direct draw mode, while direct3d works fine.
