Thanks guys..... Eyefinity is awesome
Just a quick thanx, got my 5870 & my 3xDell p2310 and all I can say is WOW. Only had a quick play, felt a bit nauseaus but apparently that's normal and you get used to it, hope that's true. Racing sims on triple screen is amazing and with the new card even @ 5760x1080 getting smooth frame rates.
Well done ATI, was a big nvidia fan but this card is top. CCC leaves a lot to be desired tho.

nice... I had the same first experience myself.. it's crazy how well a single 5870 can render such a large area.. makes me wonder how much overkill my dual GTX260s were for 1920x1080.. hmm.. anyways.. the extra FOV is kick butt and I don't think I can go back to single screen gaming now. ;)
I have encountered a few bugs, but mostly everything just works.. and yeah, ccc *cough* needs a little work.. but oh well. :)

Glad to hear I'm nto the only one to get a quick bout of nausea at first. I haven't had that since the Wolfenstien 3D days.
And yes, gaming in single-screen feels very awkward afterwards.
Much as i love it, i kind of curse this place. If it wasn't for WSGF, I'd have saved about $1500. :P

Re: Thanks guys..... Eyefinity is awesome
no nausea for me with the 3x24"s but I am a Marine, been through worse in real life :D
If I had to pick a game that could really get to you it would be a flight sim game doing some crazy flying or maybe Mirrors Edge, starring off all those building ledges and constantly moving around with the bright color environment, they actually added the little blue dot in the center just to keep people from getting motion sickness on ONE monitor, imagine 3 :D :D

I was a merchant seaman for 5 years, crossed the North Atlantic in November so was very suprised that it got me as I've been through a lot worse in real life to, I think that was the problem my brain was like WTF.... too much info all at the same time from 3 screens saying that I was moving when I wasn't...... bloody awesome is all I can say, been walking round like a kid in a candy shop since I got it all set up and no more feeling sick.

*chuckle* I still get it every now and then on the projection setup. It's my eyes seeing motion that my inner ear doesn't account for as real movement. It's commonplace in simulation. Playing some stunt flying or racing games can make me feel motion sickness at times.

Re: Thanks guys..... Eyefinity is awesome
Thanks guys! :cheers
The speaker rack is the Creative Surround Station, I got it off a guy in the garage section of a local forum for about US$25, it was in pretty good condition, so it's one of my best purchase ever. :) You can't find it on sale now, except in garage sections, because it's EOL (end of line/life), Creative isn't making it anymore. And yes, I did bump my head a couple of times after just mounting my speaker setup with it, but it's kinda automatic now, I duck whenever I want to sit on my chair. I have to say, with the rear speakers firing right down and slightly to the back of me, the surround effect is awesome,,,,Dead Space's audio effect had me jumping off my seat when I hear a pipe hitting the metal grill floor.
BTW, I did try using speakers stands (metal ones) but I kept stubbing my toes the right rear stand whenever I sat on my chair. It was either this speaker rack or I was gonna lose my foot......
