Aion FOV Hack / Mod

This is something i could not find on this forum, so I will post it in hopes that I am not double posting.

You can in fact enable the console in Aion and get a wider FoV. Max fov being 180.

Navigate to your Aion Folder.

In most cases this could be C:Program Files (x86)NCSoftAion

Inside that folder, Creat a new txt document named system.ovr

Open the document and add the line: con_disable_console = "0"

Also, if you would like to keep the game from taking you to the website on exit, you can add the line g_open_aion_web= "0"

When done, it should look like this:


Now save and exit.

Open up Aion.

Once you are in game press Pause on your keyboard, this will open the console.
Then, use the command g_minfov #(1 - 180)

I use g_minfov 180 as this seems to give me the best in game view.

Ah, my bad, I did not realise we already had this solution.

The solution was there, but buried. I did see this but decided to write my own so that it could be easily searched by people, and to have a step by step right at the top. :-D

I followed your guide step by step, but hitting the PAUSE button does not seem to do anything for me in game or the log in screen.

Sorry for this much delayed response, as my HD went out and UPS took forever to get a new one to me on the account of all the snow we have had out here.

I think I know exactly what your problem may be.

In your system Control Panel

Open Folder Options.

Select the View TAB.

UN-check hide extensions for known file types.

Go back to your Aion folder and delete the .txt from system.ovr.

Your file should now look like system.ovr instead of system.ovr.txt

You should now be able to open the console after entering the game (not character selection)

Is that just me or is there no stretching around the edges?

I'm pretty sure it's because this game was originally vert- and that this just makes the camera go back farther.
