Mviewer/Th2go with 5870

Post by airfly »

Did anyone try to use Mviewer or Th2go with ATI HD5870 to make a six monitor setup?

I am a new player in multimonitor setup, A month ago I buy a box from Mviewtech and now I am using a Mviewer MV103-HDVE Pro with 5040x1050 60hz. I am wondering whether I can get a six monitors setup by using MV103-HDVE Pro and HD5870 together.

I am not experienced with MView or TH2G but, I believe that if you connect the MView or a TH2G to 1 of the 3 display inputs on the 5870, then you will have only 2 left on the 5870, and 3 on the MView or TH2G, so theoretically I am not seeing this work out to 6 monitors in total, unless you are going to use another Mview or a DH2G.

You'll need two MView Boxes and will have to vertically eyefinity the Boxes together. But last time I looked, 5040x1050 or any other triplehead resolution isn't supported by the 5700 - 5900 series cards, oddly. I'd wait and ask Dave if it's supported yet.

Thanks for all above. I want to use two Mviewer to setup this six-moniotor setup. I konw that EF can make a display group. I also find that Mviewer can do six-monitor setup by using two together in winxp, which the Mviewtech guys do like this:

So I want to use them together. If it is ok I will buy another Mviewer and a HD5870 card. If I can do this I can make a six-head EF without Displayport.

But it seems that HD5870 can not support 5040x1050 on one DVI. But can I get 3840x1024 on one DVI since it is a standard mode?
