Ok, So at this moment we all know that Crossfire/ATI Eyefinity are not available.

So My question Is this.... If I setup (3) LCD's and enable them in (1) 5870 Video Card and try and play say DeadSpace or Crysis For example. Right there that is alot of stress on one card.

My question is ***WITHOUT ENABLING CROSSFIRE*** If I purchased another ATI Card and installed it in my 2nd PCI-e SLOT and Used that one as ACtive Display Port would it work? In other words can you "utilize two video cards at once (2 "5870s") and still use Eyefinity

In a sense You are using two videocards to power the technology therefore increasing you're performance I would think.

******
I hope my question makes sense. In plain english..."I just want to know if I can use (2) 5870's in Eyefinity"

No,

What your saying is crossfire, use 2 cards at once... thats crossfire.

If you mean have two 5870 cards installed and still use eyefinity, yes it will work however when using eyefinity only one card will be utilized and I would imagine all 3 monitors need to be connected to that one card.

Currently even one card is pushing 3 monitors with most games maxed out fine. Dead Space is one of them.

Crysis is one of the exceptions.

It´s a good question though; when/if they get Eyefinity working on Crossfire if you can hook up two DVI-monitors on one card and the third on the other card. Would save the cost of the active DP>DVI adapter and "almost" make the second card free, at least when prices have dropped a little.

That is a different question than the OP had, he wanted to know if both cards could share the load in some means by using 2 cards even if they are not in crossfire.

But the answer to your question would still be no because even now with all current cards when in crossfire all the displays have to be on just 1 of the cards.

The day before I got my 5870 I hooked up my 4 monitors to my dual 4850's and I could not use more than 2 displays until i disabled crossfire and let the cards run independently.
