Does the Samsung 2243BWX run @57Hz???

Post by gabbadude »

Hi All,

I have searched the WSGF for this monitor to determine whether it can run at 57Hz but I can't seem to find any info on it. I have also checked the 'Known Working List' but the monitor isn't listed there. I have alsi read the entire thread and nothing...

Anyone else using these monitors at this frequency??

Thanks for the help

My folks have the 2243BW and I can tell you that it does 1680x1050 @ 57hz no problem. Does come up with a warning that its not a correct resolution but hitting the menu button removes the message.

If you concerned try grabbing that instead.. Id only be guessing the BWX would be able to display it.

Thanks for your reply :) I managed to grab the BWX from a friend and tested it. but I only managed to test it in single monitor mode. I have read that even though some monitors work in single monitor mode at 57Hz, there is still a possibility that it will not work when there are 3 hooked up to the TH2G.

I just ordered two Samsung 2243BWX's , gonna try to setup DTH2G with these and my Samsung 226BW as the middle monitor, I'll post whether they work or not.

That will be great. :) It will be nice to know if it works. I gave up eventually trying to find 2 more of these monitors just to test it so I eventually bought 3x Viewsonic vx2240w.

These are such aweswome monitors for thin bezel edges!!

I'm gonna hold off on adding this to the list until there's definite confirmation one way or the other.
A lot of Samsung monitors have different issues with 57hz (OSD etc) so if someone could properly test it and list any and all issues that may occur, that would be sterling 8)

I can confirm that the Samsung 2243bwx's do work with 5040x1050 at 57hz, you will get the optimal range message, push the menu button and it goes away.
I'm running Vista 32 ,Nvidia GTX260 and 182.08 driver. I had to use the beta GXM from this thread to get the 5040x1050 resolution option:

These are the games I've tested so far and they all have the 5040x1050 option in game and run ok at that resolution:

COD4
Left 4 Dead
Empire Total War
