HAWX from Ubisoft will support triplehead out of the box!
Awesome news! Any word on a demo release?
HAWX from Ubisoft will support triplehead out of the box!
Ubisoft has revealed it will release a demo of Tom Clancy's HAWX on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network this week.
The Xbox 360 demo will launch tomorrow, with the PS3 version dud on Thursday. The PC demo is due for release on 26 February.
The publisher has confirmed the demo will feature four player drop in/drop out gameplay, with three different planes available: the F-16A Fighting Falcon, the SU-35 Super Flanker and the AV-8B Harrier II.
As well as full access to the advanced flying manoeuvres via the Assistance Off mode, the demo will provide two missions in which to sharpen your skills. Operation: Off Certification is a training mode and Operation: Glass Hammer sees you take to the skies over Rio De Janeiro.
We got the chance to play an early build of the game late last year and you can check out our preview here.

We worked extensively with Ubisoft for HAWX to assure full TripleHead2Go compatibility. You guys will enjoy the customization done specifically for TripleHead users! :)

That's a great result, keep it up! Get on to those FPS devs and hassle them!
[hijack]Mark, how is the updated PD-SE software for Vista for the latest NVidia drivers going? The BETA I was sent and spread here is working for most people ..but it only works for 200 series cards. It would be great if you put these BETA attempts out here on WSGF (with proviso of use at your own risk), most of us would really like to get Vista working! There is real top community support here and we are mostly tech literate so it would an ideal place to put BETA software out. Even a link on your site to here for BETA downloads would be great for TH; people who buy it install the latest drivers and can't get triple wide working on their spanking new Vista systems (GTX285/295 drivers don't work without the BETA AFAIK) are going to put out a mighty negative impression of TH2Go[/hijack]
And now back to your programmed thread......

Nice. Although I'm not into planes at all. (Choppers, on the contrary, just plain ROCK.)

Thanks all
The devs over at Ubisoft definitely deserve praise for this. Feel free to head over to their forums to post any positive feedback:

(Sometimes I hear devs rant that gamers are super loud when something goes wrong, but you barely hear from them when something goes right. It will be nice for them to see something positive on their forums after all the flaming for Farcry 2 - which of course was justifiable all the same) ;)
Cheers!

Hm i guess that means i can assume it'll support SINGLE widescreen okay? And the shockingly low recommended specs are nice. Hopefully it won't look 5 years old... I never trust pre-release screens
Plus, we get to crash in jesus.

Demo is downloading now. I'm trying to temper my expectations, but HAWX is looking like it could be The Action Flight Sim I've Always Wanted. I am by no means a hardcore sim fanatic, as I would much rather be in the air playing my game than in the dirt simulating reality. :P
Also, some terrific DRM news straight from the Ubisoft forums:
:D

Will online authentication be required to play HAWX, in singleplayer (ex: DRM system)?
No, you will be able to play H.A.W.X on any platform, without authenticating on the internet.

Well ...... it's pretty average.
Visually it has it's impressive moments, yet when you get close to things it looks about 10 years old. This is confirmed by the exceptional performance - obviously not pushing current gen hardware too much. (Or well optimised? I will stay pessimistic 8))
What the hell is this Assist OFF thing where it goes into a cinematic camera? How the hell am I supposed to line up a shot when I'm looking at my plane from the side?! And I have to use this to do the frankly ridiculous 'drifting' ?
I'm disappointed with the control being on a single stick too. I would have preferred to use both analogue sticks for the pitch, yaw and other such terms I have no idea the meaning of.
Arcadey to the max then, but I wasn't really expecting anything less. I don't like hardcore flight sims, yet I feel this is too far the other way and has no sense of fulfillment.
Hrrmph !
