For the sake of being right and encouragement I think a "Well done good job and thankyou" thread is in place over at thier forums as soon as we confirm that that has Widescreen.
How good is this. And it's EA isn't it? If EA is behind it I guess then its dependant on the specific team making the game and not the developer for lack of a better word for EA.
w00t, Mach1.9pants IS pleased ;)
I am just getting to the end of Clear Sky, will be doing this next instead of FC2 at this rate :)
Cheers Ben
Good point Johnny, I will get a DR in once I have finished CS, if someone else doesn't first
The controls are a bit weird as the perspective is over the characters right shoulder which takes a bit of getting used to, it works better but its a very atmospheric game feels a bit like a highly polished Doom 3 :D
You can use stasis fields to slow time in places as well which is a nice touch
I will perserver with it tonight (wife permittting Lol)
Congratulations to EA for providing us Triple Headers with another game that works out of the box !
I have the game now and 5040x1050 isn't showing up in the options ... my guess is because it is 57Hz
4320x900 is showing up so I guess I'll have to play it like that.
I did find a config file here ... C:Documents and SettingsAdministratorLocal SettingsApplication DataElectronic ArtsDead Space ... but changing the res and refresh rate in there just resulted in it dropping down to 1680x1050 ... even if I made it read only.
Still 4320x900 ain't that bad! Better than 1920x1200 (or BIA:HH ;)). I trialled Crysis Warhead in that res so I could get higher settings and it wasn't a disappointment :)
FYI, Dead Space works out of the box with SoftTH 1.07b just fine (1.08rc3 gave me blank left and right screens)...
Now my problem is that I am a numpad + mouser, I ALWAYS program every game using the numpad arrows for movement, but Dead Space won't let me use the forward and back arrows on the numpad for movement...ACK! I can't use "WASD", never have...

heh, problem for me was I learned to keyboard+mouse with "Terminator: Future Shock", one of the first games (I know of) to use mouse look (by default push forward on the mouse -> looks down, so since then I always have to reverse the Y-axis in games)...
And for me, playing Duke Nukem 3D (yeah!) and other similar games it made more sense to have all the keys on the numpad...
/ = reload * = special - = zoom
7 = lean left 8 = move forward 9 = lean right
4 = turn left 5 = target enemy 6 = turn right + = jump
1 = strafe left 2 = move back 3 = strafe right Enter = crouch
Ins = use/open Del = grenade
I have used the above for as long as I can remember...Dead Space is the first game that won't let me map the 8-UpArrow and 2-DnArrow keys to move forward and backward...it lets me map all the other keys oddly enough...
Looking for the config file now to see if I can hand edit the settings...BLERG!
**snap*** I played M+KB on my own pc for the first time with T:FS, great game.
I get real annoyed with console ports and key mapping. At the moment I can't seem to get the toggle command mode in BIA:HH to work on the keyboard and have to pick up the 360 controller and press the left trigger to do it! (I have tried the .ini and the in game menus)
