DualHead2Go + third monitor + spanning = Triplehead?
DualHead2Go + third monitor + spanning = Triplehead?
So, I already have a SoftTH setup, but it doesn't work with GRID. I'm considering going for a Matrox solution, but I don't want to spend all that money on a TH2G. I'm wondering if I could hook two monitors up to a DH2G, then span that with a third monitor to give me a triplehead? Has anyone tried this and had good results?
I'm running XP, so the spanning is not a problem.

This question has been asked a few times (search for "span") but it seems no one has given a definitive answer...

Nope won't work, at least no on nvidia cards, span needs two identical resolutions. I have tried it.

Yeah, had me wondering for a second because I was sure that I've posted a definite answer to this same question in a few different threads.

Nope won't work, at least no on nvidia cards, span needs two identical resolutions. I have tried it.So the answer is yes, however the two monitors on the DH2Go would use one singular resolution equal to the resolution of the third monitor (effectively making it useless)

What is the cost difference between DH and TH hardware? If you're already going to spend the DH money, making the bump to TH would seem worth it to avoid SoftTH performance issues.

And the price difference from DH to TH for the digital adapters is approximately $110 (YMMV).

Horizontal-span will not work here. The 2 display resolutions need to be symetricly sized. The only way to do what you propose is to use SoftTH and configure it like you're running 2 displays. But then the game you want to play you said it doesn't even work with SoftTh, so donno what to tell ya...
