Up to 6 LG Monitors with USB Multilink technology!

I just discovered this monitor, the LG L206WU: http://www.lge.com/products/model/detail/l206wu.jhtml

It says it can connect up to 6 monitors via usb!! :shock:

Does anyone know if this could be used in Surround Gaming?

It would be awesome! :D

It requires the use of LG Software, so that could be a problem...

Simple and short answer...no...

Then again if you just need more desktop you can also throw in as many video cards as your mobo will fit also. Those USB display adaptors are for non-3D desktop use. They simply have no horsepower to do anything 3D of note. Also, the 3D canvas in games make it so that type of solution would never work.

Cool feature, but it's clearly advertised for workstation use only.

I'm running an EVGA version of this at work. My laptop will only display it's own screen plus one monitor. By using this I can attach another 19" monitor and expand my desktop real estate. It's great for documents, email and such, but don't attempt to do any gaming on it. it's SLOOOOOW

Kegetys (the guy who wrote SoftTH) was able to get a USB DisplayLink adapter working for a side screen. Apparently, it ran very well at 800x600 (with some lag), which doesn't really matter because you're not looking directly at it.

I don't consider running a USB2 video adaptor at 800x600 with some lag via SoftTH to qualify as running "very well". A $50 entry level video card would run it better. It's strictly an issue of doing the numbers on the bandwidth. :wink:
