Combat Mission series/can't find fixed aspect ratio option

Post by Simtek »

I recently purchased a Seanix 22" LCD monitor along with a GeForce GTX 260 and I'm tearing my hair out trying to fix Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin. While the game itself runs just fine on Vista, I can't get it to run beyond 1280 x 1024, instead of my default 1680 x 1050 setting, which results in very ugly stretched graphics. While this isn't surprising, since it is an old game, I have no idea how to disable scaling or such, as I can't even see the "fixed aspect ratio" option under nVidia Control Panel.

Help. :(

Aww.. c'mon. :( Anyone have any idea why the "fixed aspect ratio" or any related options aren't available on my computer? Or any information on "pillar-boxing" games?

Hello ... welcome to the forum ... 8)

I believe that the option is missing from some drivers ...

I am using XP and the option is in my nVidia Control Panel ... Driver Version 177.33 ... under the heading "Change flat panel scaling".
Drivers here ... http://www.nvidia.com/content/forcewithin/us/download.asp

Thanks for the welcome. :)

But any way, I still can't see the heading "Change flat panel scaling," I even deleted my previous driver to avoid a mix-up. :(

Keep in mind you need a DVI cable for aspect scaling..

VGA (D-sub) connection will not give you scaling options. But some monitors have forced 4:3 as an menu option, so check that too.
