GRiD PC freezing on me...

i got GRiD PC since i have a 3.0Ghz Quad Core, 4GB RAM, VIsta Ultimate, 8800GTX video Card PC, and after the installation, when i ran the game(numerous) times, the game is stick stuck on the "GRiD" screen, i left it for hours and nothing happnened, went to sleep and woke up 7 hours later and still same shit

I checked and i couldn't find a patch. is there a solution before i re-install the game?

There is a patch for GRID, so I dunno how hard you were looking... ;)

i updated my nVidis firmware and still it's not working....i uninstalled and re-installing now.

i'm also downloading the patch just in case. thanks! :)

What about the graphics card's drivers? Firmware and drivers are NOT the same thing.

oh thought they're the same lol! so i need to go to my vidoe card vendor (xpertvision) and download the drivers from there too?

i updated the firmware from nVidia's site and it's still not working. I'll try the driver now, thanks for clarifying it up! :)

Found your problem, I put it in Bold...

hehe, before this becomes another vista bash, try that patch.

Hmm I ran it in Vista no problems and I am using older drivers and did not patch the game. Runs great on my laptop but I forgot to bring a controller, and playing with the keyboard is a major chore.

The only weird thing I'm having problems with now after installing the patch and finally getting the sound to work right using stereo is the PC wants to go into sleep mode when I hit Esc in the middle of a race. I disabled sleep mode but haven't checked yet to see if it stops it from happening.

yes i have tried the manufacturer's website http://www.xpertvision.com/main/index.php and i keep getting a "Network Error (dns_server_failure)" message. I did a search on google and came up with no site that has my xpertvision 8800GTX latest drivers.

does anyone know of a site that might have my video card drivers?

Just use those from nvidia.com they should work fine, the latest I saw for my 8800 were 175.16 at this time.

In the off chance xpertvision did something weird and the nvidia driver installer says you don't have any hardware or such, should be able to edit nvidia's nv_disp.inf with a couple lines from whatever drivers you have from xpertvision to make it work.

That's how I've installed geforce 260/280 only drivers on this 8800.
