LOTR: BFME minimisation problem

Everytime I try to use either of the widescreen .ini modifications as mentioned in this thread: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/ The game minimises upon loading. Does anybody know a solution to this?

What resolution are you trying to enable? What is your desktop res? Do you have that value listed as your desktop res?

After the game minimized can you maximize?

I'm not able to maximize afterwards.

The resolution is the same as the resolution of my desktop: 1920x1200

I am going to assume that you have other 1920x1200 games that work.

I am also going to assume that all you see is the game taskbar at the bottom of the windows screen.

Can you get the game running in a non-widescreen res to see if the problem is universal?

- Other games do work indeed.
- I see the game running in the taskbar.
- When I run it in a standard mode (1600 x 1200), it works fine.
- I am running windows XP SP2

Mine is more or less the same, except for a firewall line and some volume changes:

Do you see the splash screen when the game starts?

Can you alt-tab and select the program?

Do you have the right file? The options is stashed in what is usually a hidden directory.

That is odd behavior. :?

I couldn't do anything of the sort.

Strangely enough after a reboot, now everything does work.
Anyway, I'm a happy person now. (even if it's vert-) :p
