Soldier Of Fortune 1 and widescreen issues

Hi everyone,as the topic says,i know SOF1 is and old game, back then weren't any widescreens monitors,so it doesnt support widescreen resolutions, but is here anyone who can help me how to modify any file to make the game run in 1680x1050 resolution,widescreen?
I got a Samsung 226BW and i have to stretch the game with the monitor buttons to fill the whole screen and it doesnt look that good.
