Crysis seems to get the FOV right ...
It is looking good but until we get some from the exact place in the game we can't be 100% sure if it is horz+
EDIT :
Links removed now I'm in the beta ... even though they were not my screens I don't want to get in trouble ... ... or kicked from the beta ....

Are there NPCs that we do not kill this time? Or is it just a traditional level-based shooter?

Hmm, the screen seems to cut the hands too much...

Maybe.. but just remember these are from Joe Average's pc, so we dont know what settings they have turned on and off.
Note: I read that one of the screens here was taken with the second highest settings allowed in the demo. Take that whichever way you want.
I just hope everyone holds true judgement until the final release.

From what I could tell the Beta has the correct widescreen implementation.

So far so good.
At least some developers get implementation right.
Gotta love that title.

Seeing Crysis videos in 16:9 makes me want to get an HDTV panel for a monitor next build. I don't care what people say about 16:10 fitting human eyesight better I like the wider screen. For that matter I don't see why manufacturers don't make 16:9 monitors. The only time you see them is in integrated name brand systems.
16:9 just seems to more immersively envelope you. The eye may see in 16:10 ratio but I think what they forgot when they decided on that format is that what you're looking at is mostly dealing with ground level or a few stories up in height and you're usually looking more left to right to check your surroundings. I really don't find myself gawking up and down a lot unless I'm in or near a several story structure with snipers.

And how often does this occur?
Everyone's had a more interesting day than me apparently :)

Well the other day I was "just walking along" trying to return a movie at the video store when all of a sudden the condo that was half constructed enroute was taken over by a group of anti-Blockbuster radicals. I tried to pass by unnoticed but they seemed intent on using me for target practice! Talk about rude!

Yeah I hate when that happens... tisk tisk
As for Crysis... thats definately true Hor+ right there... yes indeedy

Hopeful, but I'll withhold opinion until I have the game in my hands and know one way or the other. ;)

Every time I see new screens for Crysis, they seem to get worse and worse. Look how bad the graphics are when you view them full screen! I just hope it's a bad PC and not the game.

Do any of you guys know if those Divx movies can be played by simply installing the Divx plugin in Windows Media Player? I don't like that they want you to install all that Divx WebPlayer ActiveX crap just to view these.

For epic win: Install VLC media player.

I know about VLC and have already tried it, didn't like it. I'd rather not install any more than I have to. I'm going to just try the Divx plugin for WMP I think.I already have the Xvid and Ogg Vorbis plugins and have had no problems with them.
That last video linked is one of the best I've seen yet but it looks like the game uses motion blur for sprinting and fast panning. I certainly hope you can disable that feature. I really can't see why they'd put so much blur in just for sprinting or any at all really.

Many of the people posting pics are posting with the game on low detail.
