Anyone able to get System Shock 2 running?

This game is in my top five of all time, and I'd love to be able to play it again, but it just doesn't want to work on Win XP. I have a legitimate copy and everything. :( Anyone have any success getting this one to work, WS or not?

First of all, do you have the latest patch and everything?
Second, what happens when you try to run it?
System Shock 2 works fine for me, though there's no way to get it running in widescreen.

Zero chance of widescreen. As for XP...

Try as I might, I couldn't get it to run from my legitimate CD copy. I downloaded the full program to my comp, and it runs, but I have no sound. Oh well, guess I'll play Deus Ex instead, I never did play that one!
