The Battle For Middle Earth:
Does anyone know if this supports widescreen?
I am really tempted to buy it, but not if it looks funky on my notebook.

Thanks!

I've ordered it, will be delivered on Friday. I'll report as soon as I get it.

Although, it's based on the Command & Conquer Generals engine, so if that flies, this most likely will, also

C&C Generals will work in widescreen. There's an .ini file that you have to change in the C;Documents and SettingsMy DocumentsWestwood directory. I think it's something like that. It's certainly in My Documents. Once the res hase been changed, you see more of the terrain much in the same way as Red Alert 2 and Tib Sun. :)

just installed. It does not support widescreen out of the box. Checking for the .ini now.

entry is:
Resolution = 1440 900

(width height)

yeah umbra, but did u recognize that the aspect ratio is false after that? at least when i entered 1280x720 for my widescreen beamer icons that should be circular were stretched to the sides. is there any way to correct this? i suppose not.

nevertheless i found the options.ini useful because now i can play in 960x720 which means that i have black bars to the left and right, but the center part of the projection area uses it's real physical resolution so i have a nice image quality

don't mind my bad english :lol:

the HUD is definitely stretched (common widescreen issue), but it the 3d world seems to be correct.

ayyyee, sorry for that...
i saw the stretched hud and thought -> ok, it doesn't work, i should rather change back quickly before i get used to these little fat man (the stretching is already hard to recognize) :wink:

so i think i will try it once again, thank you
