Schizm - Mysterious Journey

So, anyone gotten this game to work correctly with XP and widescreen? All I get is jumbled colors/low resolution... no detail. I tried the one patch I found and it did nothing.

How does one run it in a smaller screen area, but with better detail?

Also, about Myst DVD collection. I got this to run, but its also not as detailed...is this normal because of the year it was made? I thought when we played Myst years ago, it looked really good.
