v3 seems to be working fine. Because of the bezel correction option most of the information (eg 'game saved') is displayed correctly. The only thing I noticed is that if the game tells you to put on night vision in single player for example, the first part of the sentence is still behind a bezel. Maybe that can be fixed before v3 will be released. In any case, I would like to thank you again for helping this community out a lot.

Do you plan on making no-crosshair versions of your COD plugins after you update?
Thanks for helping the community so much :)

Sure, it depends on which versions of the game need it. For MP, you can disable it from the console and/or config. I know MW3 needed it removed via hack for SP, but I don't know which other CoD games need it. I would imagine the only two that might need it are MW2 and BO.

Well actually the only COD game I haven't been able to enjoy without crosshairs so far is Black Ops... So I'm eagerly awaiting your no crosshairs single player BO plugin.

Hi Dopefish,
It looks like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has been updated today. Is there any chance you could update Widescreen Fixer to work with the latest version?
Also... on a side note, do you know if it's possible to get Widescreen fixer to work with Borderlands and Brink?.... not great games I know but I got them in the steam sale and didn't realised Eyefinity isnt working on them.
Thanks

Is there any way you could update the wsf v3 beta? v3 spoiled me since the bezel correction change helped a lot. Thanks a lot for all your work.
Yeah, I'll update it later.

I put out a new test version earlier today.

This one fixes the radar with MW3, and L.A. Noire has been updated to the latest version on Steam and includes options for lowering/raising the FPS cap. I haven't completely nailed disabling the black bars entirely yet, but I'm close.

I've updated the test version again to include support for HUD centering with Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine.
There are some issues that remain, and a new one that arises with the fix.
The HUD and most interface elements are centered. There are certain things that are not, such as subtitles and menu buttons (like under video configuration).
You can no longer select menu items with the fix enabled. You have two choices: use the keyboard to select your options (which works really well), or disable the fix and use the mouse.
The main menu and cutscenes are still vert-. I will continue to work on this.
Screenshots with the fix enabled can be found here:

Hi there.
Hope everyone's Christmas was good.
I wanted to ask if there was any news about the "no crosshairs" black ops SP plugin, as I'm just waiting for it to purchase the game.
Thanks!

Sorry for the delay. I'll work on that tonight.
The main thing holding me back with the Black Ops plugin was primarily the interface of the application itself (in the test version). The ability to show only the newest version works well in the release version of Widescreen Fixer but I have not implemented that feature yet into the test version, since each plugin has it's own configuration now. Without the ability to hide all the versions, the drop-down selection is really cluttered. What I'll do is just leave it cluttered and include the plugin for it when I finish it, and then later when I get a working solution for only showing the newest version I'll update it again.

OK, I updated the test version.
Here are the changes:
Plugin.Call of Duty Black Ops:
The latest version for MP and SP works. The rest are not implemented yet.
Videos are now (finally?) centered in SP.
Bezel correction works.
Option to disable the crosshair in SP (does not work correctly yet).
Library.Process:
Added FindWindow().
Plugin.Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3:
Added exception checking, fixed a potential crash, and reversed the behavior of the crosshair checkbox.
Plugin.LA Noire:
Eliminate one cause of a potential crash.
Plugin.Warhammer 40000 Space Marine:
Added some exception checking.

It will disable the crosshair, but it also disables the radar. I tried using the same method I used in MW3 but it didn't work so well. I do know a solution, I just have to work on it some today.

No, the radar in single-player. A crosshair fix isn't needed for MP.
