Is there a definite answer to:
Can i play Black ops, Cod 4, Modern Warfare 2 on Punkbuster and Vac server using the WSFixer and not get banned.
I want to use eyefinity but dont want to risk my account as i cant afford to buy the games again??
Unfortunately there is no real definite Yes or no. For me Personally I have never had issues. I searched for the same answer and never really found an instance where someone said they were banned. Only seen people talk about it second hand information. Which doesn't hold a lot of weight for me. You'll be hard pressed to find anyone that says "Yes I was banned"

Having trouble getting the fixer to work for my retail CoD4 SP. Wanted to play that again now that I've gotten the surround set up.
It seems the fixer thinks it's working, it tells me the game is running, and the fix is enabled with a 5.3333 ratio, but in-game nothing changes.
Any ideas? I'm on the 1.7 patch of the game.
EDIT, nevermind, got it working.
I had to use the steam plugin to get it working even though I had installed the retail version

Yes, I seem to have them backwards. I'd release an updated version but I have too many changes to the main app right now that I can't yet. When I finish updating the app and plugins, I'll release them all and COD4 should be fixed.

There has been an update to black ops and the fix no longer works. :(

Yeah, we'll have to wait for an update to the fixer.
I'm sure he'll be right on that.. the patch was just out a few hours ago.

Maybe a feature request, check if widescreen fixer is already running, and if so bring it up to front, otherwise start it. :) And it would solve the problem that jayodom had :)

Thanks for this great tool Dopefish! I am new to nvidia 2D Surround and your tool helps make it more enjoyable. I have been playing Black Ops and it looks great! I saw that another poster mentioned the cut scene videos being on the left screen and partially in the midde. I have a 3 x 16:9 set-up. I notice some off menu behavior in the MP version as well (background effects pull to the left). Not a deal breaker but thought I would mention it to you in case you are still working on the fixes.
Thanks!
Mark

I let a double post through the moderation queue as they started differently but actually had the same content. Now fixed. :)

You know... for some reason I never actually thought of that. I'll get that going in a future update. Thanks for the idea.

Just to let everyone know, the latest Black Ops update has broken the WidescreenFixer.
Cheers.

thought it should be worth mentioning. Valve update earlier today screwed up single play/zombies mode for eyefinity (widescreen fixer), it resizes the FOV mostly correctly, but the hud and just about everything else gets moved/stretched or non visible.

Hello,
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but my rig doesn't seem to like Widescreen fixer.
I'm trying to get Wolfenstein (retail) working in Win7. All the changes have been made, but at this point I can't get past a stretched screen. (3x1)
Wolfenstein v1.11/1.2 ( I have 1.2)
3x 16:10
Game Running: Yes (unrecognized)
Fix Enabled: Yes
WSF seems to be working, but as soon as I start Widescreen Fixer v2.3.59 an exception error pops up.
Microsoft .NET Framework

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Are you running it as administrator?
It looks like only part of the reading or writing of memory completed, which is weird.
I'll add in more checking for that in a future release.

figured it'd be a good idea to post images of what i'm meaning
these would be the before the WSF was applied:
all stretched out. this is the reason we use the WSF in the first place (for which i am grateful for the use by the way)
here is the after, and what i've been seeing for a day or so:
you can see that the chat/persons is moved to the wrong side of the screen and is not visible
you cannot see how much ammo you have, crosshair for hip aiming is stretched score is stretched, etc.
