for 3D (Vision) you need :
-no TH2Go
-120Hz Panels
-shutter glasses

And I'll get 5040x1050 then?

I really want 3D, but can I run just standart 2D in 5040x1050?

P.S.: I am asking such quastions because of some miss understandings in few upper messagas.

Like this Sapphire combo deal with the VGA adapter for only $10 extra? ;-)

Nice! Now thats what I am talking about! The largest headache people have head with Eyefinity it seems, is getting the right adapter and the price of the adapter. VGA adapter is a perfectly valid alternative and 10$ extra is something I think many would pay even if they initially wasn't planning on getting eyefinity (or perhaps wants to try it out with borrowed screens). :)

Yes, youll get 2D 5040x1050 running standart 60Hz LCD panels (120Hz needed for 3D Surround), both dx10 and dx11 are supported.

you don't need anything special to get 2D 5040x1050 with nvidia surround besides the proper driver & two or 3 nvidia gfx cards ...

This was a great day for me!!!
Download 258.69, replug everything, 2 or 3 mouse clicks and surround is working!!! Fire up BC2 and it works a treat with roughly the same framerate as before only now I have DX10 with MSAA... This was in start contrast to the endless nights spent trying to get 5040 working with the TH2GO :(
Just a quick rundown of my settings...
2 x GTX285 and i7
Game: BC2
2 x anisotropic no AA
DX9
fps, varies between 60 - 95 fps never dipping below 60
roughly the same with nVIDIA surround although I didn't test for long (2 maps)
MSAA has allowed me to use 2 x MSAA at the expense of only ~10 fps which I make up by turning down a few other settings. Before using 2 x FSAA in DX9 I couldn't get it to stay above 60 fps even with everything on low.
Incidentally, BC2 changes my refresh rate to 59.953999 when I select DX10 so everyone who says that DX10 doesn't work with the TH2GO because it needs exactly 60Hz may have to eat their words.
Now my problem is how to get rid of this TH2GO, honestly I wont miss it at all...
Thanks you nvidia!

No one else has had issues with the their system locking up (primary monitor going into standby) when they launch games at triple-head resolutions?

No problems here, from reading your other post, I am wondering if your second card is bad? I would swap slots between the cards, reinstall the drivers, and then try some single monitor gaming on the other card and see if it locks up. From your other post I see you have 3 identical monitors, so refresh rate or resolution is not the issue.

Are all games having a problem or just Metro 2033?

I had Battlefield Bad Company 2 cranking my video cards hard for the last 4 hours and not a hitch.

Its been a few weeks since i went from ati eyefinity to nividia surround on the same pc/os and its gone from 3 or 4 crashes a night with eyefinity to no crashes so far with nvidia so so far looking a lot more stable. very happy

yeah - surround feels a bit more polished to me than eyefinity... but that could just be the extra horse power I have now with two cards... so far I haven't had any issues getting games to play nice with surround. FEAR was a little fussy at first, but I smacked it around and it's working fine now, but when you pass an auto save point the left screen will go blank for like 1 second.. it's a little distracting.. but older game and all.. I am just happy it works ala uberwide.

The only game that has given me trouble performance-wise in Surround is Metro (granted, I've not tried Crysis yet). I have to scale down from "very high" to "high" and reduce resolution from 6040x1200 to 5000x1000 or something like that.

Regardless of that, I'm not really impressed by the visuals. It seems like the same STALKER guys must have been on this dev team because the textures have the same ugly grainy look that I hated about the STALKER engine.

Just noticed there is a newer driver 258.91 for those having issues with 1 or 2 monitors going blank, I am going with "don't fix what ain't broke" and sticking with the originals ( 258.69 )...though some early posts suggests 10% improvement in several games...

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?s=ab28a2f87b66b4863a54cbe4d5496251&showtopic=173962

Today, we released a new Geforce display driver and 3D Vision driver version 258.96. This driver should address the issue where after enabling NVIDIA Surround or entering a game, one or two of the screens go blank. We were not able to verify all cases as we do not have the monitors in house for every single reported configuration so I would like to ask everyone who had these issues to try the newest driver and let me know if this has been fixed for you:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce-3d-vision-winvista-win7-cd-1.33-driver.html

Ideally you should have two monitors connected to the first GPU and the third monitor connected to the primary DVI port of your secondary graphics card. If the monitor still blanks out, please report the attached monitors, connected configuration and if possible, a screenshot of the NVIDIA Control Panel which shows your NVIDIA Surround configuration.

The 258.96 drivers are WHQL candidate, i got a boost on some titles, and running a benchmark like furmark (multi gpu) i got a 9% FPS increase over the 258.69.

Yeah the 258.96 are a better grab...Win7 x64 here:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-64bit-258.96-driver.html

I want to try them, but don't want to have to redo my desktop resolution, surround, bezel correction etc, wonder if it makes you do all those over again (usually it does)...

Well, I went to the .96 beta drivers.. was having my first issue with surround where lotro would drop to like 30fps (from 60 / vsync'd) and get all fuzzy, almost like 3D was enabled, but it wasn't... very weird. I uninstalled the current drivers and install the newest ones.. haven't seen it since... and now I have profiles for my games.. before the only one the drivers would find was Dead Space.. even if I tried to manually add some in, the spot would be blank. anyways.. all games seem to be working fine or better now in some cases.. FEAR doesn't seem to get the blacked out screens when auto-saving a checkpoint. so that's nice.

I did try the new 258.96 drivers (twice), results were not good, back to the 258.69 and working again, here is my post on the Nvidia Forums:

FAIL.

Ouch, uninstalled old drivers, booted Safe Mode, Driver Sweeper'd out all Nvidia items, installed 258.96 drivers, rebooted, all three monitors say "Out of frequency range". I can get one or two monitors working, but as soon as I plug in the third monitor, "Out of frequency range".

Tried connecting bottom card first, etc, every combination. Once I connect third monitor "Out of frequency range"...

I have 3 DVI monitors, a Gateway 22" center monitor, and 2 Westinghouse 22" sides...worked with 258.69 very well, but I was tempted by the 10% improvement others have claimed...

Running a system restore right now as I type this and hoping I get my working surround back...crossing fingers and toes...

...System Restore is rebooting now...wonder if I will have to reinstall 258.69 and set it all up again...or...

...Applying update operation 40 of 40 to registry...(hey that's new)...

...Huh?...rebooting again...

...AHHHHH Cr@p! I have a triplewide looking screen on the center monitor...

...Doh! Forgot to reconnect my other two monitors...

...Whew! Looks like I am back in business with 258.69...

Moral of the story, don't fix it if it ain't broke! And make sure you have a good System Restore point.

LOL.. curiosity got us both... these didn't install smoothly at all for me.. I spent 30 mins cleaning and installing, one boot my top card wasn't detected.. then trying to re-orient my panel display group the nvidia control panel would hang and crash constantly.. I decided on one final reboot and they seem to be ok now.. but it was a hassle getting them working.

I tried again with the WHQLs, was able to get three monitors in Separate mode working, and created refresh rates for 59, 60 and 75 for each monitor, then enabled Surround...three minutes of screens going on and off then locked up...

Rebooted, two black screens (can see mouse) and one monitor off...

Two system restores later, back to 258.69, just hoping all the newer drivers don't do the same thing for me!
