Since no one else has made a new thread, I decided to. Yes, there is bezel management. :rockout

Re: 3D Vision Surround drivers are out!
1 day after I rip out my nvidia cards and install a single watercooled 5870 E6, typical.
May have to try these out on the girlfriends pc instead x]
EDIT: 151mb version of the driver (version 258.69 BETA) instead of the 354mb cd, for those that wont be running 3D (Vista/Win7 64bit).

Woot woot, lets see some numbers people, looking for GTX470 SLI @ 5760X1200. Also is there bezel compensation?
Also would like to see tri sli GTX260's haha. One card for each monitor.

There is bezel compensation. :)
And, another thing you'll love:
That leads to the really big upside to all of this and that is the fact that GTX 480 SLI scales incredibly well and all that pixel pushing power is realized when you start turning on all the eye candy at 5760x1080 resolution.

Re: 3D Vision Surround drivers are out!
Anyone know if you have to switch display profiles between extended and span mode like you do with eyefinity, which even after having the card for 2 days is already getting old having to switch profiles all the time.
Would be interesting to know how seemless it is to go from 3 desktop monitors in extended mode, to 3 spand monitors when gaming.
This is one of the things I have liked about SoftTH that all monitors are extended and the game then spans 3 screens fairly seemlessly, least no change of display profiles each time.

Not really sure how that would work. When in extended it treats each monitor as a single monitor, so say a res of 5760X1200 I doubt would even show up as an option.
All you have to do is create a shortcut it only takes a couple seconds. I don't see how that is getting old.

Im still new to the ati drivers having used nvidia for the past decade, I just noticed the hotkeys option, which is a few clicks less, looking now to see if the drivers will automaticly switch to a different profile when loading a game instead and then back to extended mode when it finishes, this would be more ideal.
This is why I wonder about nvidia's solution, are there profiles the user needs to switch between, or are there automatic profiles that do the switching? :)
The more seemless the switching, the better :)
At worse I am now thinking of replacing game shortcuts with .bat files that switch to span mode, launch game, when game exits, it switches back to expanded mode.

Well if you get that working let me know, it does sound like a good idea.

Does this work on Vista? If not I'm going to be pretty pissed at NVidia.

No Vista im afraid, something to do with the WDDM layer I am lead to beleive.

Re: 3D Vision Surround drivers are out!
Just crossposting to give people here information:
2xGTX 470 on water, 800 core, 1950 memory.
I could only tinker for a half-hour before bailing for work so I only had the time to try BC2, World at War, and Serious Sam HD. Everything seemed to work, though I had the wrong version of Widescreenfixer so World at War was stretched out like mad.
I averaged 45-60 FPS (Vsync and triple buffering on) in BC2 single player on the jungle map when it came to the actual shooting and fighting and smoke, but in the part preceding that, where you maneuver a boat through some rapids, the FPS tanked into the teens. Probably something to do with all the effects of water sloshing around. This was using 5760x1200 at 4xMSAA, everything max.
Serious Sam was unplayable at 8xAA, everything max, but I don't know what kind of 8xAA mode it tried to enable since that option doesn't even exist anymore in Nvidia drivers. Going to 4xAA smoothed things out considerably and I got 50 to 60 FPS.
I'm glad Nvidia has finally gotten this thing out the door. I went with Nvidia because there was no way I was going to play on three monitors with only one GPU, so the SLI requirement was a bonus, not a problem, for me, since it meant that Nvidia had to get multi-GPU Surround right, whereas ATI's implementation seems hit or miss. The SLI scaling hopefully proves itself superior to CF even moreso than in regular gaming, especially with the extra video RAM. And finally, yes, no Display Port.
Can't wait to go home and give it a more thorough run. Great to have coincided with the Steam sale!

Re: 3D Vision Surround drivers are out!
can anyone confirm that vsync works properly with nvidia surround? vsync with ati dosent work with eyefinity or trys to cap the framerate at 120 instead of 60 for 60hz monitors.

All I need is a new Video Card Now!
Re: 3D Vision Surround drivers are out!

Seems to work :)
You need to work out all your profiles first including making a desktop shortcut, I then simply take the path in the shortcut and copy it into a .bat file.
Code: Select all
"C:Program Files (x86)ATI TechnologiesATI.ACECore-StaticCLI.exe" Start Load profilename="span"
"U:gamesSteamSteamAppscommonleft 4 dead 2left4dead2.exe"
"C:Program Files (x86)ATI TechnologiesATI.ACECore-StaticCLI.exe" Start Load profilename="extend"
"C:Program Files (x86)ATI TechnologiesATI.ACECore-StaticCLI.exe" Start Load profilename="extend"When switching back to expand mode I need to do it twice for it to set back correctly otherwise the outside 2 monitors are switched around :doh .
I did see that post, but if thats the case how come TH2G doesn't have a problem?
Its hardware driven.

If my tiny brain can help it, I won't do that again!

Yes but its still NVidia and Windows that drives the 5040x1050 to it, the TH2G is effectively seen as a monitor by the OS and drivers, the TH2G really doesn't do any graphics work it just splits the image.

Re: 3D Vision Surround drivers are out!
Working PERFECTLY with a pair of 280GTX's with three HP LP2065's (1600x1200).
I took my TH2Go Digital out of the mix and it is now going up for sale.
The bezel management works fantastically. It created bezel adjusted resolutions for the entire spectrum of resolution options.
For example, I've been playing Metro 2033 at 3840x1024 with my TH2G0 (averaging in the 40's on DX9 with settings to High) and bezel management on. This, of course, made me lose the sides of the picture on the outside monitors. Now, however, with the new drivers, I have not only 3840x1024 available in-game, but also 4015x1024 which corrects for the bezels AND maintains the edges of my picture! Great stuff! (BTW - I tried running at 5019x1200 but Metro dropped me into the 20's making it unplayable for me).
I'm so far VERY pleased with this new feature.

+1 to vsync quastion!
And adition I am interested in DX1011 compability.
And the main quastion: if it's K to throw TH2GO in a can and start using nVidia surround? Or is there some problems still in nVidia Surround drivers?
