That is true, however there is a site which will forward mail from the US to almost anywhere in the world... http://www.myus.com/ the cost is reasonable $10USD set up fee and from the looks of it the shipping would be $36USD. Dell should deliver to these guys for free so we would be looking at $145USD or about $160AUS all up. Cheaper than Sewell and probably quicker!

The only problem is you will need a US credit card to pay for it.... I already tried!

I live in Croatia, so i cant order from USA 90% of the time.
I've registered to myus.com as recommended by previous poster fauntlaroy.
I paid 10$ and recieved US address and a phone number in my mail, that i can use for filling shipping address required by the seller.

Went on Dell US and bought the adapter online, using the address info provided to me by myus.com
The only problem is you will need a US credit card to pay for it.... I already tried!

It accepted my amex card with no problems (registered on my name in Croatia).

When/if it arives, i will confirm here.

Well, Ben, Dell pulled their usual fast one on the customer when I ordered their adapter. Within a day after ordering, they send you the good old, "hey, we didn't know it, but we were actually out of these, and even though our website says they'll be ready to go in a few days, yours probably won't be shipping for a couple weeks or more."

... so ... if you have anything new to bring to the adapter conversation, I'm sure we're all ears.

Well this really sucks, I guess we all did not think the demand for the 5870s and attachments would be what they are. Its good and bad for ati though, cause nothing worse than not being able to sell a product you dont have to sell!

I ordered the dell attachment yesterday, and have not received the email yet, but I am sure its coming.

heya guys..

Just thought I'd let you know that I received my accell dual link converter and I am finally running my triple monitor setup...

It took 2 weeks to get the converter via amazon (US to Australia) and the total cost was $180AUD.....Some local suppliers in australia are asking for $270 with 3 week turn around...

Also bought the apple mini dual link and it works sweetly too....The mini DP to DP adaptor took only a week to arrive from the states for only $60...

very happy, couldnt be happier...hmmm, me wonders if anybody else has eyefinity set up in aussie land without a native displayport monitor..hehe...i certainly do...

now, me goes back to arkam asylum to bash up the joker on one of my screens :D

Good to hear! I got tired of waiting on Dell and Amazon so went with the only adapter widely available - Apple. It needs a mini female displayport to regular male displayport cable, but it works!!! There seems to be many complaints about the Apple, but mine works flawlessly with stable image and no snow/noise on the monitor using the adapter.

The only difference is I have my Apple adapter's USB cable connected to a separate USB power adapter on my powerstrip as opposed to my PC. That seems to stabilize the adapter quite a bit.

Anyway, Eyefinity is crazy immersive!

I purchased the Apple adapter on Ebay (62.00) today (along with the Displayport to minidisplayport adapter that you recommended), based on the encouraging experiences shared by several of you. Let hope mine works also. I will post back here.

Right here:

http://estore.circuitassembly.com/products/Mini-Displayport-Female-to-Displayport-Male-Adapter-Cable.html

The link was kind of hidden on the first post, the word "here" was the link to where you can find it.

You are very welcome, I hope you do not end up with both a Dell and an Apple adapter though. Did you cancel your Dell order?

Here is one reason I felt comfortable ordering the small adapter from Circuit Assembly, print in the description stating:

"Please note, because this is a new cable it has not been tested on every possible configuration of PC to Apple Display. If this cable does not work for your particular situation for any reason we will send a complete refund including shipping cost."

Any company that offers a guarentee like that is worth checking out.
