I have Widescreen fixer 1.66.0 running and selected CoD: Mw2 + 3 x 16:9 Wide Surround. It shows the Game Running as "Yes" but Fix Enabled as "No".

The fix does not enable by itself. You need to press a hotkey to enable it.

If you've pressed the hotkey and it still doesn't enable, you can try the latest beta version of my application from http://wsf.imk.cx/

Also, Widescreen Fixer does not work with pirated copies of MW2 (the same goes for CoD4 and CoD:WaW).

Thanks dopefish.

I have a legit full retail copy of MW2.

Ok, I edited the wsf.ini file to set the hotkey:

[Widescreen Fixer]
Left=1136
Top=489
Game=10
AspectRatio=18
UpdateTime=500
Minimized=0
Hotkey=186

Started up WSfixer, started up MW2, used the hotkey and checked to see if the fix was enabled. Had two Yes's. :) Went back to the game, but the max I can select in game is still only 3072x768. With the fix on all it seems to do is change the mouse location. e.g. I have to have the mouse over to left of a menu item to click on. If I have the mouse on the menu it doesn't register.

EDIT: I tried the beta, but the same thing occurs

Disregard my last. I got it working. It must have been a bug in the ATI CCC driver as I went to Play Crysis and it only had the 3072x768 max in it. Which is strange as I only played that in 5760x1080 yesterday. I check the resolution in CC and it said 5760x1080 and my desktop looked as it should for 5760x1080. So I went back to Extended mode then re-enabled Eyefinity - Whamo! I could get 5760x1080 in MW2 :mrgreen:

I think I may implement another tab on the beta version that does byte-patching of files. This way it can not only do memory patching for FOVs or aspect-ratios, but you can edit game files to support widescreen resolutions.

It will probably use the same format as the memory editing where it will have a drop-down list of games and versions and another drop-down box with a list of resolutions (or two text boxes where you input the resolution yourself), and you simply hit apply.

Looks like MW2 was recompiled again and broke Widescreen Fixer again. Worked last night, broken now, MW2 shows v1.0.175 vs widescreen fixers 1.0.174.

I updated that page to mention that it requires .NET Framework v3.5 and I also provided a link to download it just so people know.

When I finish it up more, I'll make sure the installer checks for the framework first, too.

I just uploaded a module for Call of Duty 2 MP v1.3 (previously only SP was supported). I was not able to get the HUD centered. Also, I have not tested it with PB, but it's using the same technique as CoD4/WaW/MW2, so it will likely be okay.

Get the module from the beta page:

so do we just download the application . what are all those individual modules. sorry for the stupid question

Yeah. The application is stand-alone. If you want support for a game, you just download the module for the game you want to use. That way the list isn't filled with games you don't play or need. I had a package combining the app + all modules, but I took that down until I automate packaging it all together (so I don't have to do it by hand each time).

Ok, thats what I figured, just making sure. thanks for the fix :rockout
