Re: Modern Warfare 2 TH2G

Post by suiken_2mieu »

Hi Guys, I have 2 x gtx 295 vid cards, a TH2G and 3 x 24 inch monitors. I have tried but with no success to get Modern Warfare 2 to work in Wide Screen Mode. All I get is the normal view stretched out over the 3 monitors. I am desperate to get it working and have tried serveral suggestions from other sites using different utilities but with no success.
I would like to start from scratch if anyone has a solution

Please any help kindly appreciated

You need "widescreenfixer" but until dopefish emerges from where ever he is and update wsf, you're stuck to one monitor. Sorry.

I just tested WS Beta v2.0.0.0 and it works fine for me with three 24" monitors and a xfx 5870. BTW I'm running the Steam version of the game.

Here is a link to the BETA v2.0.0.0: http://wsf.imk.cx/

Hope this helps.

For those of you whom keep pushing and bumping...

Please check for updates here... http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=11529

Also..
[quote]Where ever he is, I'm sure he's received a shitload of messages informing him of the update.

600+ emails received since the MW2 patch and counting.

As for what's going on. My roommates haven't been able to pay their share of the rent and it costs me too much to cover for them. Utilities have been getting shut off and I've been looking for a new place. I haven't moved just yet but I have some options I might take soon. As soon as I get the opportunity to work on the game I will. I'm at a friends place right now and I might just install the necessary tools. However, I don't have VS2008 here with me. If someone I've talked with or dealt with before has VS2008 installed, PM me.

Interesting to hear that v2.0 may still work.

I have tried using v2.0.0.0. and it did not work. Did u just test it recently with newest Modern Warfare 2 Multi-player patch? I think its 1.1.195. I can get BETA v2.0 to work with newest MW2 Single Player but not MP.

Sorry De La NoChe, I forgot to mention that I only tested in SP mode. Thanks though for confirming that WS Beta v2.0.0. only works in Single Player Mode. Sorry for not testing both modes before I posted.

Can we please direct all WSF comments to the proper thread and avoid having 3 threads about the same thing?

Indeed.
There is a specific topic as linked for dopefish's WSF. Please refrain from posting elsewhere regarding updates.

We need to open peoples eyes to the greatness that widescreen gaming brings to the table. All of my friends I show are amazed and want to invest in the technology. I am starting to post videos up on youtube to spread the word. I just finished my first knife throwing montage and you can check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EV674pcRTn8

Tell me what you all think. I had some editing problems with adobe premiere so i couldnt do any uber slow mo or blur in effects. I dont know why. Maybe its the codec im usining. Anywas thanks to dopefish cause without him this video would not be possible! Thanks bro!

sure, heres the version that allows u to change it to whatever value, i dont know what iwll happen if you choose 99:1 aspect ratio ;)

http://www.2shared.com/file/9067371/96e7afe5/cod6ar2.html

btw, does my triplehead one work?

Hey fuc847, you still around? I cannot get Dopefish's WSF to work, but I do get your "cod6ar2.exe" to work. However, it is not quite right, much improved, but people are still short and wide. Almost playable but not quite.

I tried changing the value from 3 to 4.8, but cannot see any difference, even after resolution change, and tried cycling thru Auto / 4:3 / 16:9 / 16:10...

If it does not take too much time, can you make another version hard coded for 4.8 or 5? Running 5040x1050, thanks in advance!

Or if anyone is using the "cod6ar2.exe" with widescreens and got it to work let me know.

Can you elaborate on why Widescreen Fixer won't work?

Widescreen Fixer works with COD4 and COD5 for me, but does not work with Wolfenstein or COD6...

I choose the correct game dll and version, launch the game, activate, but nothing happens.

Wolfenstein
3 x 16:10
Status
Game Running: Yes
Fix Enabled : Yes
Value :

The Value field is blank.

Modern Warfare 2
3 x 16:10
Status
Game Running: Yes
Fix Enabled : Yes
Value : 4.8

Tried Wolfenstein retail 1.0 and official 1.1 and 1.2 patches...perhaps need the Steam version?

Also tried COD6 "fixed" exe's in the wild, same results.

fuc847's triplewide patch works, but looks like its hard coded for 4:3 monitors, as it does not squeeze horizontally enough (people are still short and fat). Sorta playable so I played a couple of missions of COD6 with some fat guys...hehe...

Tried disabling Avast antivirus for the heck of it...not sure what else to report.

Not the end of the world...may play them single monitor if I get bored enough...or perhaps next driver update something will change...

Are you running it as administrator? Newer versions of Widescreen Fixer will ask you automatically to elevate privileges.

Are they both the US versions?

My copy of Wolfenstein is the retail version and Modern Warfare 2 is the Steam version.

For MW2, do both SP and MP not work, or just one or the other?

Can you send me your MW2 .exe files?

I was wondering if I could ask for a fix for modern warfare 2 for http://alteriw.net/ version of it. I tried the latest version, it says game running (unsupported) and the fix does not work. If its too much trouble then leave it, but it would be nice to have it.

thanks :)

Does AlterIW actually modify iw4mp.exe?

It says it's compatible with the Steam version of the game so I don't see what's stopping it from working.

If you used a cracked .exe, it will not work.
