Re: Configurable or alternate key bindings?

Is there any way you could possibly allow these keys to be reconfigurable or even just quickly slap together a v4.01 with the keys bound to the left hand side of the keyboard for all us lefties? :)

Alternatively, you could just use HotkeyP to define custom hotkeys that will send the appropriate keystrokes to the tool.

Sorry, may not have made myself clear. Because I'm left handed I use the keypad extensively in Far Cry 2 and all FPSs and use nearly every button including +, -, * and /.

The FOV Hack intercepts these key presses before Far Cry 2 so I can't use them in-game.

Cheers.

Once the FOV is applied you can Alt-Tab and just close the tool. The keys will be available and you'll still have correct FOV.

Hello. I have two displays.

One 22" 1680x1050 (16:10)
One 50" 1920x1080 (16:9)

Can you supply the best settings for each of them? I read many different suggestions, so please help me.

Possible upcoming fix from Ubi?

We know that a lot of you were really happy to see how quickly we came up with our first patch, but at the same time, some of you were disappointed because many of the major issues you reported to us in your feedback were not in.
As some of you may already know, we have a video Q&A going on with the dev. For us it’s a way to maintain dialog between you and the team that created the game, but it doesn’t mean that we will not provide any information about our upcoming updates.
As we already told you, the 1.01 PC patch was our first step, and thanks to your contributions we can now tell you what kind of improvements you could expect from our upcoming patch.

General
Allow player to select display mode for Widescreen view in the display options
Improve server list with filter options (ping, punkbuster, server name, maps, game mode, dedicated server…)

Multiplayer
Allow match search from the maps leaderboard
Add minimum players setting in host options
Order scoreboard by point
Add an option to set respawn time for the host
Show VIP on scoreboard
Allow PC user to use Clan tag
IP display in the lobby server

Server
Add new functions to dedicated server
Allow the same server to host more than one game at a time

You can expect the next patch to be deployed within the next couple of weeks. We will also update you shortly on what’s coming next for the consoles versions of the game.

Please take note that a lot of different fixes and issues are not mentioned here, it doesn’t mean that we are not working on them. Still it is not likely that all reported issues can and will be fixed. If you have an issue or some feedback you wish to share, please be sure to report it to customer support or on our Far Cry 2 Tech support forum

Thanks!

Still quite vague, let's hope for the best!

1.2 patch. Of particular interest to us. THough a bit late for me, as I've finsihed it will likely not play it again...

Among the fixes:

- Added triple-header support to the game.
- A widescreen option has been added and can be enabled in the display options menu.

Cool that is nice, now all we need s something to stop the guard posts re spawning after you move 'x' metres away, maybe after a day or so!

Works fine! best thing is when I was using the fixer and zoomed with the scope I would get about 10-20 FPS (instead of 30-90) that doesn't happen now it is patched!

Woah... that doesn't make any sense. I am tempted to download that one from fileplanet but there is no way I am waiting an hour and a half; kinda defeats the purpose of having a fast internet connection if i have to wait for the download to start.

I dunno, maybe there is crap in the folder of the large one? I did GH and it is fine.
The splash screens and menus are all now in the centre screen. Also the HUD is in the centre screen. Now that is a step beyond! I don't expect that from a dev but it is bloody nice :)

I downloaded them both and after extracting the .exe from the zipped one it turns out that they are the same size ... so I guess the same thing ...

Odd that the patch notes are different ... :?

Does anyone know of a list of console commands for this game?

You can type help and then ? in the console to get a command list, but I'm looking for some to help with the clean screenshot taking process. Options like disabling the HUD, noclip, disable the AI, hide the weapon model etc.

AFAIK there is no console commands (it's a console PORT), you can add things to the launch exe such as:

-GameProfile_AllWeaponsUnlock 1 Unlocks weapons, note that it will only unlock the weapons avaible at that part of the map.
-GameProfile_GodMode 1 god mode, only enter AFTER completion of tutorial
-GameProfile_SkipIntroMovies 1 simply skips the intro movies for quicker play
-GameProfile_UnlimitedAmmo 1 unlimited ammo, only enter AFTER completion of tutorial
-GameProfile_UnlimitedReliability 1 unlimited reliablity, never have your gun jam!

However apparently if you add -DEVMODE to the exe it should open these:

Decrease speed: [-]
Increase speed: [=]
Toggle invincibility: [Backspace]
Toggle first and third views: [F1]
Load current position: [F10]
Toggle extra information: [F11]
Advance to next checkpoint: [F2]
Warp to Spawn point: [F3]
Toggle no clipping: [F4]
Return to default speed: [F5]
Save current position: [F9]
999 ammunition: O
All weapons: P

But I couldn't get it to work, I fancied a 3rd person view
