OK things are looking better. But now when I need to for instance, grab something and destroy it with my left tentacle, it gives me the popup message but when I press the button it does not work.
Same last version with out the FOV does not have this issue.

Hey, I downloaded the widescreen fixer, but the FoV fix seems to not work for me. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but nothing seems to change this awful FoV.

FOV is working for me. However, every single time I go and eat a heart or activate a special ability with either F or G, it will crash the game for me every time.
EDIT:
Also, while grabbing the circuit breakers and doors with Q, tapping E to tear them apart does nothing. You are basically stuck once you get to a door you need to tear apart.

Yep, exactly same thing for me from the guy above me. Eat a heart, instant crash. Can't open a door either, you can just pull on it forever.

I used the the widescreen fixer, and tried to apply 16:9 x 3, but it won't change it in-game. The FOV fix works after using the hotkey, but it just changes the center screen, and doesn't widen it to 5760x1080.
Is there something I need to do to make Darkness 2 use my desktop res?

OK. I haven't played into it far enough to see about a crash yet. I need to get to a specific point in the game where this happens.
Then I can test the game itself, and then with the fix, so I can easily narrow down what I'm doing that causes it.
The FOV adjustment would be weird if it causes a crash.
Update:
I've made it to an area in the game where I can reproduce the issue.
It's odd that even if you disable the fix it does not restore the functionality of breaking open doors.

When I use the fix, I usually just get a gray screen, or the FOV is applied on center screen.
If I activate it with the Display Options open, it will show 5760x1080, but will discard the change and revert to 1024x768 if I try to apply it. Can't get it to work, must have missed something.
Edit: Managed to get it working by deleting the .CFG files in appdata/roaming/darknessii/, then starting widescreen fix & darkness 2.

I've fixed the FOV to where it works with doors and does not crash the game.

After debugging for about 3 hours I found a new solution that seems to work fine so far.
SVN log:
- The field-of-view control no longer adds to the field-of-view, but instead lets you configure the field-of-view directly.
- The game no longer crashes and you can break doors now. This was an issue related to the FOV code I added previously. I'm using a new method now that seems to be working fine.
- Fixed reading an invalid offset for the field-of-view. It still is sometimes incorrect but for the most part it seems to be right. If it reads it wrong, do not worry, it does not manipulate the value you see. It's merely there for informational purposes.
- Fixed a potential crash when configuring the plugin if it was reading the old trackbar value before this update.
Update:
It still crashes when eating hearts.
I'm going to add options to enable/disable individual fixes.

I've figured out the crash is related to the interface clipping fix.
A new version has been uploaded with the options to enable/disable certain fixes.
I've disabled the interface clipping by default. You can optionally enable it but it will definitely crash when eating hearts.

Hey Darkness lovers, I was just wondering if any of you are able to change the settings in game - like up the detail. The game just crashes with out without the fix. Also When I have the fix running I can use the dark portal thing to purchase upgrades...for some reason it's all on my right monitor and it's behind a game screen. Hard to explain, but my centre and left monitor are black, my right monitor has a small portion of black where I can see some text, but then the rest of the screen is filled with in game backdrop. I try to disable fix before going into upgrade portal, but it still doesn't work :-/
Update: Ok I've noticed that it does it with the ingame menus also. The ingame menu show up on the centre and right screen, but cuts off the end of the words on the right screen. Weird, anyone else having this drama?
Update: Ok I dont know whether this is a problem, but on Dopefish's site it says version .311 on the client it says version .307??
Update: Ok dumb me, it was that interface clipping fix that is disabled. So that means I can't eat hearts, or I have to quickly disable the fix to eat hearts? Might make it hard to play.

(and still be able to eat hearts, open stuff etc, have like a toggle or something, not sure)
I can totally live with out fov if it causes the above to not work, is there any hope to get the two things fixed in the next update?

I got over the eating hearts thing but them i ran into another problem :( my game crashes every time i use the black hole skill :'( ive tried 5 times and restarted the computer and it does it everytime.
Part from that is all goooood :D
