Jet... Set.... Radiooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo~~~

Man those were the days. The only thing I am wondering is whether or not SEGA is going to do custom tags. It was possible to do such a thing in the original... but you were limited in a few ways, especially in graphic support. I hope that SEGA will enable us to use custom tags so that we can fully enjoy that ol' JSR experience like it was back then. If they do let us use custom tags, I am going to enjoy finding some "source materials" for use in the game.

FYI, XSEED is localizing some Falcom games for Steam. They are old but entertaining.

Bad news.

Developer GSC Game World and its postapocalyptic shooter sequel S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 have been shut down, the company announced today.

But some good news.

It's not all sad news, as GSC Game World has effectively become Vostok Games, a new studio based in Ukraine. Last month, the developer inked a deal with Vostok Ventures Ltd. to finance the studio's first project...

Nevermind.

...a free-to-play massively multiplayer online first-person shooter tentatively titled Survarium.

Among other things, it touts a rather astounding 500 square mile open-world city, which looks suitably drenched in rain and atmosphere, given the subject matter.

Open-world Middle-earth? Dare I dream?

EDIT - An open-world Middle-earth that uses a 1 to 1 timerate and lasts for the two years of the trilogy. You are an average joe/jill of one of the races and the fellowship/war happens all around you without needing anything directly from you. All the major events and the key players going about their business.

You can do whatever, join a side, explore, sit around and fish, etc.. There are certain events that you can trigger by helping/hindering/killing something that can change the course of history (rob and kill some dude who washed up on a riverbank...Sauron wins!). Or you can just be a cog in the wheel. Make this game.

http://www.theverge.com/gaming/2012/5/30/3051918/doom-bfg-edition-details

Doom 3 BFG Edition will be the final say in Doom content to date. The package will include Doom, Doom 2, Doom 3, Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil and a brand-new, "lost" mission for Doom 3 with seven new levels, a new boss and two-to-three hours of content.

In addition, Carmack and id have been tweaking the formula, enhancing and improving the now seven-year-old game. The graphics have been enhanced. 3D graphics support will be native.

The RPG classic FINAL FANTASY VII returns to PC, now with brand new online features!

Character Booster – Find yourself stuck on a difficult section or lacking the funds to buy that vital Phoenix Down? With the Character Booster you can increase your HP, MP and Gil levels to their maximum, all with the simple click of a button, leaving you to enjoy your adventure.

Optimized for PC – FINAL FANTASY VII has been updated to support the latest hardware and Windows Operating Systems.

Character Booster is giving me a bad vibe.

Maybe better widescreen support? Or executables that allow us to force better widescreen support?

"No, the Character Booster will not cost real money to use," a Square Enix representative told me. "We'll have final pricing info on the game to share soon, but we can confirm that there will be no microtransactions for the upcoming rerelease of Final Fantasy VII on PC."
