i wish it would be so easy for me
unfortunately this is not the case for me
Im located in germany due the nature of steam it only allows me to buy the german version.
Which is modified and only available in german language :(

that´s why i ask if its possible to gift it to me since the restriction does not apply on gifted copy´s

Wanted to give a big thank you for the eyefinity fix.

Also if anyone is interested, and you find the game a bit laggy or stuttering you can try the following:
Disable the "Steam Community In-Game"
Disable the "Steam Cloud Synchronization"

Both can be done by right clicking the Black Ops list in Steam, and going to properties. The option to disable are under the General and Updates tabs respectively.

Without having done the above fixes my setup was running about 30 FPS with a few spikes into the 20's. Now I'm hitting FPS around the 70+ mark, and I've got almost everything at max running the ATI 10.10d release (MLAA disabled)

I've also heard rumors of running the directx install under the game directory fixes some issues related to the lag and stutter, but have not tested this.

Anyway, hope everyone enjoys the game!!

I want to try this out tonight, but was wondering if anyone has had an issue with the multiplayer. What I mean is will I get banned for using this?

Thanks.

I will also confirm that it works. Is there anyway to fix the stretching of the 2D elements / HUD? Or are we stuck like this... either way, the game's 100% playable with triple wide though. I'm running at 5760x1080 4xAA everything maxed and so far the graphics have not impressed me. BC2 definitely looked better. Oh well.

EDIT: This question was brought up in a different forum, but how does using a fixer like this affect VAC bans in MP? Anyone have any experience with players being banned from MW2 for using the widescreen fixer?

Here's a shot from the first level of SP:

Don't suppose there's a way to prevent the fonts from stretching? Don't care about it in MP, but it ruins the immersion in SP.

I never got VAC'd for using it in MW2

But YMMV.

The fixer is a hack, by definition alone its a breach of the TnC of the MP, you would need to ask Activision as to if they will allow it or not, until they give an official word use it at your own risk.

I am having some issues getting this to work, but think it's on my end. I'm running 2 GTX 470's in Surround at 6050x1080 (bezel compensation) on 3 AW2310
120hz monitors. I start up the fixer and it detects Black Ops running but when I go into the game's graphic settings the highest resolution I can set it to is
5040x1200. What am I doing wrong?

Try urning Bezel comp off and running the game again. 5760x1080 shows up for me with eyefinity and no bezel comp.

I tried that as well and had no luck. I'm supposed to have surround enabled correct?

I'm trying this right now and I still can't go over that lower resolution, I really think I'm doing something wrong. What could be causing this? Possible fixes?
